1-since to original revelations on the vehicles, all the vehs that are ready for auction have been removed or moved from the Sumter side of the station, you know the tahoes, old civilian aide vehs etc. Wonder why ??They have been replaced with new vehicles. Maybe the commissioners should visit fleet vehicle, stop the take home cars, so the parking lot would have room, this would cut the fleet by 60% and save thousands.
2-bursting you say, I doubt it, all the offices have locks, so well they are secured. But lets us get back to the fact that a large percentage of the evidence is from cases already adjudicated, most dismissed, so wouldn't it be easier to have the SAO and judge sign off on this bursting evidence , so this so called bursting evidence can be returned or destroyed. Bursting nice spin. One can maybe think are they exaggerating this situation or maybe hoarding evidence to justify the new toy house, hmmm. There was no problem until the new chief arrived and one of the first thing he wanted was a new station, hmmm
3-if this were the case and it is not, then this presents a serious fire code violation and should be addressed immediately, this is certainly a safety hazard and the city manager should direct the FD and code to immediately inspect and issue violations to hold the police admin accountable for such a serious safety concern, or maybe a call to OSHA, haven't heard the union complain.
4-the two stall garage is manned by city employees to work on the PD vehicles, you can see them lined up there, since the DPW is responsible for the entire fleet management and service, abandon the garage, removed the calibration equipment over to the DPW, put a canopy shelter up for the tank and use the garage as storage, it is certainly secure.
5-Nice try, no one is manning that station, for awhile they kept an old Tauris in the lot to make that appear but no one is ever around
6- what depts., everyone is comfy and cozy in city hall, plenty of room for every dept there.
A few years ago we learned in NP to not drink the koolaide provided by the PD adim, its spiked with stupidity and self indulgence. They all are employees of the taxpayers of NP, if we decided they needed to work out of a tent, then they have a choice, work from the tent or quit, its just that simple. They work for us, we have supplied them with more than adequate raises, manpower and equipment. Enough is just enough !!!!!!!!!!!! you are clueless
Since you think you know more than those if us whom are actually there on a daily basis NOW, its a waste of breath to correct your misinformation. You obviously have no interest in true facts. Those involved in the decisions have toured the facilities and seen firsthand. Oh, and that includes the fd inspections when closets and conference rooms were converted. I guess all those employees working out of the substation don't exist, they will be happy to know that. The garage is use one week for calabrations, no other repairs are done onsite. We have a dpw garage for a reason. Facts are facts, try to put your ugly spin on it however you like, its still lies and false information.

Np the public doesn't have the facts. You are the bully spewing information that is far from even being close to accurate. The public will have the facts when the independent company hired to conduct an analysis on the space needs completes the report and it is made public at a commission meeting.

The facts are as they are, first your so called independent company hired by and paid by the city oops taxpayers, will reflects what the PD admin wants and not what the taxpayers want, be around a while before you spew your crap, all this so called evidence, cluttering the halls, well here's a novel idea, since your insider status never countered on all the case dismissals, then just do the necessary paperwork and destroy or return the evidence, pretty simple, stop the hoarding. no room to expand, ok then do away with the locker rooms and fitness room, everybody comes to work in a taxpayer funded car in uniform, and most work out at local clubs, so there is no longer a need. Just leave well enough alone and stop trying to get the last word in, your a clueless taxpayer leach, like little kids, we want more, we want more, without us your life and safety is in jeopardy, stop it already, the admin of the NPPD is a farce, you cant buy better police work, its learned and you certainly do not have the leadership to teach. This is not lee county, bang bang, beatem up haul them away policing, this is a bedroom community, with no sustainable tax business base other than cocoplum and yes the taxpayers The majority of the PD, get in there taxpayer funded new cars and drive away from North Port after every shift, is that we don't care about taxes, we don't live here. Also if the place is as unsafe as you project and the FD or code enforcement doesn't step in, it is clearly as you describe very unsafe with all these combustible evidence boxes consuming all the rooms. floor to ceiling, wait what has the union said, nothing !!!!! Did FD or code order compliance, NO. Be real you just want a new toy house, so NPPD is one up on every other PD. I gave You the option to let it die, but I guess your clueless......

What a sham. What did the Officers do last night? Arrest some shoplifters from Walmart. Give a few tickets? Did you use the tank for pr and trespass a few. What a sham. The taxpayers well most are educated. There are some sheep that will follow and do what they are told. Another joke of the uneducated. No one is buying your BS just the sheep. Then again you have many criminals sitting in positions of power. Nothing but a sham. Brand new cars and tanks on the backs of tax payers. Lazy people did not look for grants to help with the body cams. Lazy Lazy Lazy. Hey why should they it is easier to fleece the tax payers. Then you can call them socialists when they do not agree with you. Bunch of crooks in uniform.

    Hard Choices

I agree we do not have unlimited funds to feed every want.. we should absolutely fund every need. The problem is trusting what we are told... remember when the former chief used ISIS as part of his argument that we needed the 300k customized Bearcat?

So now we need to expand.. too much evidence eating up space. So what space can be recovered? What about the telecommunications area? Why not consider using that space and turning 911 back over to the Sheriff? It provides the dire need of space and cuts a duplicative service.

you really should educate yourself and just stfu, been around here to long, I know how they plot, scheme and make things appear as THEY WANT. Wanna look like a fool and buy into there bs then a fool you are. Its funny you refer to the NPPD and use the term educate yourself, obviously you don't know what or who you are talking about. Snake oil salesman, we are growing in leaps and bounds, we have every room filled with combustible evidence boxes, we need to look at the future, we have no more room to create specialty units and fleece the commissioners to hire more officers. We have a population of what 61 or 62 K, no sustainable tax base as far a businesses, simply because this present govt discourages chain businesses, code chases them from NP. So we have given you good raises, new SUVs, a tank and body cameras ( only because of the past brutalities) So you do a little PR, and we should just give in to every little or in this case large demand.
Maybe we need a new chief and admin who can work within there means. Someone who will not hoarding of evidence and will dispose of it in a legal manner. Someone who knows the meaning of NO More!!!. Its pretty simple, they have Bu11$hitted PE,CH,VC and JL sold them a bill of goods. Three of these commissioners are termed out. Let new fresh commissioners handle the future. If anyone thinks the PD is going to relinquish the pink castle, think again. If there plan goes thru, they will occupy both bldgs. Its time to stop this fiscal irresponsibility. The clueless one has not once argued against, the disposition of evidence, the use of the garage and other points brought forward. Simply put, this is being pushed forward because the PD is losing there present allies in the commission and they may not be able to BS the new commission. Table any discussions until after the new commissioners are sworn in. Pretty simple...

It's all a ruse, it was created by stock piling old evidence, not destroying or returning evidence when the cases are dismissed. The problem is simply this, we all thought things have changed, since well none of the nonsense of the past and KV are gone. We completely ignored the real problem the Asst chief. He has imbedded himself with several commissioners, lets look what he has achieved, most if not all the good old boys have been promoted in one way or another, most are the same officers who were creating the brutality we experienced, one was given a great reference and left for a better job. Despite all marked units having two radar units (front and rear)in each marked veh, he orchestrated 350 K for the designated traffic unit, adding the rainbow fleet ghost marked cars and stripping patrol of 5 officers , then it was his idea for the tank, a surplus army veh was not good enough, so he spent 400K on the white good humor truck, but hey its got wings. Now we have the new station, proposed near the post office, to have an indoor range, garages for vehicles, lavish office space for admin, indoor training facilities to include a video shoot/don't shoot range. kitchen facilities etc. The dispatchers will stay in the pink castle along with records. It is mentioned about sub stations, they will come later but the emphasis is on the new proposed 40 million dollar station, not 30 as they state. Its all a shame, the evidence is purposely being hoarded, to authenticate there dreams, the parking lot is cluttered with unused auction bound vehicles. Make no doubt about it the Asst chief has the majority of the commissioners either BS or star struck. The police admin does not care, they have a 17-18 million dollar budget, making great money, all new top of the line police SUV's and despite hiring dozens of new officers at a cost of at least 45 K each, patrol is still short uniformed officers. They state five or ten yrs down the line NP will explode, most likely but then they will state this new proposed station will be insufficient and need more. We have a state of the art station now, the commission should tell the CM to have the PD clean up its evidence backlog and work with what they have. If the commissioners moves forward now then you will see the fix is in, three of the five are termed out, let the new commission decide
