As to whether he will be reinstated, the question you’re really asking is whether we believe Republican politicians are any different than democrat politicians. That’s a question of faith not fact.

Those who have faith in the Republican party would probably tend to say yes, he will be reinstated because they are going to follow the law and the magistrate’s legal conclusions. Those who would say the Republicans are no different than Democrats, and are just as likely to circumvent the law for politics, will tend to say no, he won’t be reinstated.

Personally, I think the Republican Party understands what’s at stake here. Frankly, it’s a lot more than this Governors ego. It’s the reputation of the Republican Party in Florida. I don’t think this Governors bad decision trumps their reputation, and I believe the Sheriff who was removed without evidence will be reinstated. I make no judgment on the reinstatement itself, other than to say I agree with the Special Master that the removal never should have occurred in the first place without proper evidence to support it.

IMHO, the chances of the Senate voting to reinstate Scott Israel are pretty close to 50%-50%. Now, this being politics, that means nothing in today's climate. But, I'll give you my reasoning.

The Senate Democrats, outside of those from Broward County and parts of southern Palm Beach County, are very likely to vote to reinstate Israel, especially after the report by Goodlette. The Broward Democrat interests are different. After all, the BCSB was directly responsible for the security at MSDHS and its employees allowed the shooter to stroll about campus with a rifle case and begin his shooting spree without notifying the office of his presence. And, the BCSS is run by elected Democrats and is a major cash cow for Broward County special interests. Allowing Israel to take the heat for MSDHS protects all of that.

Senate Republicans have a greater dilemma. They have a first term Republican Governor, who bare beat a largely political unknown who was under investigation by the FBI. They would very much like to see him succeed. However, there is also the precedent that this sets. If Goodlette had not issued hos report or if it had upheld the basis for the suspension, the Senate would almost surely have voted to uphold the suspension. But he did not. In fact, he was openly critical of the grounds for the suspension, though he was careful not to specifically state that it was nothing more than an expedient political hit job. However, the report strongly suggests that was exactly what it was. If the Republicans support the suspension, are actively supporting a political action, which has little or no evidence to support it. They are also opening the door to such action being taken on a much wider scale by future governors of both parties. While supporting the suspension will likely not harm most of the Republican Senators, in their home districts, removals of elected politicians by future governors, for wholly political reasons, could have a profound affect on their political parties.

So, the short answer is, we will have to see what the Senate does. It could go either way. That is just my opinion however and means nothing.

    READ and Comprehend:
Goodlette was hired by the Senate to review the governor’s and Israel’s claims and, after a two-day hearing in June, produced a report that went public on Sept. 25. In it, Goodlette concluded the shooting was a “culmination of individual failures,” and recommended the Florida Senate return Israel to his elected position atop the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

“Sheriff Israel and the BSO are not blameless for the tragedy at Stoneman Douglas,” Goodlette wrote. “The evidence offered has not demonstrated that Sheriff Israel should be removed from office based on this incident,’’ Goodlette concluded.

In the 34-page report, he repeatedly said that DeSantis’ attorneys had failed to prove that Israel had overseen institutional failures that led deputies to miss warning signs about the Parkland shooter and botch the response to the attack at the school.

Try to comprehend if you can:

While the governor has offered a plethora of criticism, he has not shown that Sheriff Israel’s policies, procedures or training on active shooter situations were inconsistent with Florida law enforcement standards,’‘ Goodlette wrote.

With all evidence that proven on the table you would think people would want to recognize Scott Israel was not to blame for the tragedy that Cruz caused. But we have money hungry vote driven individuals who have political agendas that can care less about the truth. This has been proven time after time but some people are just to stupid to recognize the truth.
I don’t care about the books and other props that will bring those people money it’s just shameful to do this to the victims who died that day.
Justice will prevail January 2021 when trial begins and the guilty verdict puts this animal who was ignored by his family, friends, school board and FBI.
Very sad story and no one wins.
