Make the schools safe with the SWAT team on the news?

    Dear Sir,

I noticed on the WINK News that the county SWAT team is trained in counter terrorism tactics. Wouldn't it be a good
idea to combine the SWAT team into the School Officer program so there is basically a SWAT team officer on campus at all times and deter any incidents? I've been reading the columns here for some time and recalled last year there was a controversy over a police program to train teachers to carry guns which is not a good idea, teachers teach and police protect. I would like you to think this over and consider arranging public SWAT demonstrations for the community for our safety and peace of mind. Thank you!

Applaud your participation and question, it's a good one. Suggest you look and try to learn very closely about at least one member of that "team". The Sheriff's Office run in its present administration performs "background checks" tailored to the appplicant in some cases. There are members of the department whose backgrounds and character should not at all be in a position or career where they are armed and hold powers and authority over citizens.

What in the world would Hendry need to spend resources on training an unvetted "special weapons and tactics" team for such scenarios as "helicopter operations" "VIP escort". Unscreened, under trained, wholly unqualified to even consider performing the tasks they claim they are training to perform.

Please be clear. Are you telling me that the members of the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office are not qualified to hold those positions? Who is this one member and how are they on the team is this due to the “tailored background check”? Has the team always been unqualified or is this a new team? Wouldn't they have to have some type of training to even be in the position? Could we get this information by requesting their training records?

    You smell wrong but I'll play along with you. I'm certain you can read, read other threads and posts on this board, this one for example;

Heat off Donnie for a day......WOW! Who did this background? .......and made K-9 !!

Court records indicate Anthony J. Blackman has

a history of traffic citations going back to his teenage years in 2002,

a conviction of possession of alcohol by a minor in 2003,

traffic citations in 2004 and 2006,

in 2008 found guilty of driving with a suspended or revoked license,

2010 defendant in temporary injunction for protection,

2015 guilty of failing to stop at traffic light, and on October 20, 2019 charged with careless driving.

This recent celebrity deputy was hired less than 4 years ago.

Then there is the overnight Captain, who was from here, moved around and his lack of integrity trainwreck malfeasance policing style got him canned at FMPD, and attracted some great lawsuits to FMPD (you really couldn't be this under informed can you?) but is hired by Steve Whidden (who was recently quoted in the media about holding his people to a higher standard, when commenting on the termination of Blackman.)

If you really want to fish use better bait. There are quite a few people (and all of them credible!) who can use truth, facts not perjury, destroyed/altered/falsified records to PROVE their stories.

If you are media put your contact info up. Who knows what type of interesting leads with help to verify and connect the dots could flow your way.

Yes there is! It's a Blackhawk. CC is attending Blackhawk (downloaded Sim online) School. Call sign "Maverick", in a sweet special room with a gamer chair setup) Whole graduation ceremony and pics planned with aviator wings. Survived his own survival training course, graduated with honors. Practiced living off the land in Felda using dried meat from sodomized wild boar, earned "Everglades Expert".
