How can you say he’s not responsible for the deaths? I think if we had a sheriff like Rick Bradshaw in Broward in the years leading up to the shooting there is a good chance the kid never shows up to school that day armed with a rifle and with the intent to kill.
Scott Israel decided long ago that politics were more important than policing. You live by the sword, you die by the sword.

You have drunk the Koolaid poured out by the media embraced by many of the family members of the victims.
First of all, there are 2 million people in Broward County alone. And over 6 million in the tri-county area. Even if Cruz was hit by a bus before he shot up MSDHS, there odds are that someone else would commit the same act at some school in Broward County.
Second, nothing that Cruz did, before he shot up the school, would have resulted in his being incarcerated for life. The mental health professionals, none of whom worked for the BSO, felt that he was an immediate danger to himself or others. And, even if he had been convicted of the crimes he committed, he was a juvenile at the time. So, he would not have been precluded from passing a NICS background check. But, even if he could not pass the background check, he could still have obtained the gun from a private sale or an illegal sale on the black market.
Third, the only way to stop such an attack is to have sufficient security of the proper type at each and every school in the county. That is the responsibility of the BCSB, not the sheriff. And, of course, no such security was in place. To make matters worse, the much ballyhooed MSDHS Security Act, which was supposed to increase the security at Florida schools to prevent a repeat of this type of shooting establishes security standards which are virtually identical to those in place at MSDHS on the day of the shooting.
This is reality. Thinking that no one would ever have shot up a Broward County school, if Israel was not sheriff and that we all safe from another such incident is delusional.

Do you really know how stupid you are? Why aren't you blaming the shooter? That's right because it's a political circus act. What a bunch of fools! Those who went out to that circus needs to ask for forgiveness and go to church. Stop your pathetic shows cause it's not working. Israel will be back!!!!!

Sure lets bring up his kids. Didn't one of them bully and sexually assault another student with a bat? That crime got swept under the carpet because of Daddy! Apparently Daddy is a great roll model. We should make him Sheriff.....not! Listen, I don't want the current command in there either, I think they are in over their heads. Israel had several years to prove he's a leader, the sheriff we needed. All he did is worry about his political career and make sure everybody understood BSO wasn't a law enforcement agency. His words not mine. The problem with that statement is the sheriff is the head law enforcement officer in the county. So my thought is if Isreal doesn't want to be the head of a law enforcement agency, he shouldn't be running for sheriff. I had high hopes for Israel, someone with 40 years of law enforcement experience,
unfortunately he was disappointing.

Good points but any pandering suck up who goes on CNN to attack the NRA is a loser that doesn't deserve any sympathy. Note that the parents he was sucking up to to save himself turned on him. Now that they are not his allies, MSD is all THEIR fault. That wrinked up old fool is without a soul.
