Knight has done such a poor job running the Sarasota Sheriff's office... and he has had so many deputies file lawsuits against him (won, lost and otherwise)... that it destroyed his chance for running for Congress because he is always receiving bad press from employees. People were asking WTF is going on with Knight? He even got caught calling people names on a hot mike (remember the Shirley Brown case with the school board?). Knight is blacklisted from running for Congress.

Let's face it. Knight has temper problems and he is paranoid, which is why he attacks SSO employees when he thinks they are attacking him (real or otherwise). The FBI prohibited Knight from receiving a security clearance from the federal government for "good cause." He even has a criminal arrest record from when he drank too much alcohol and then got into a fight over "girl issues." VPD officers hooked him and booked Knight becasue they had "probable cause." That's one reason why Knight detests the City of Venice. LOL

That might be true, but that's only because Knight was able to smear the reputation of Carsen Plank in public, for all the world to see. Knight's smear campaign against Plank is forever documented in newspapers. In Knight's analysis, he who smears last laughs last. Knight fights dirty and he should never have been a sworn officer (from the very beginning). He is dangerous to good, hard-working SSO employees. Similarly, Adolf Hitler never admitted culpability, but instead, he blamed the German people for German's ruinous defeat. To this very day, Knight has never admitted culpability of any sort for anything, even when the Florida court of appeals ruled against him (in reference to Knight's refusal to obey the orders of the chief judge of the 12th Judicial Circuit). The man has sociopath tendencies. If the shoe fits, wear it. Again, from the very beginning, Knight should have NEVER worked as a sworn officer because he is dangerous to the good reputation of others. Everything is always about him and his feelings.

I think y'all are discounting Plank. From what I've heard that girl is still fighting to clear her name. Maybe she needs to start fighting dirty like Knight.

Carsen Plank certainly used an excellent attorney, who has also been railroaded by the system; but she bounced back with an awesome counter-suit, which she won! Sometimes I wonder if all the crap that Tom Knight has instigated against multiple SSO employees is one of the reasons why he is leaving office --- because so much crap is coming back to haunt him. Blowback can get nasty.
