Typical MO people. If you been here long enough, you will see the same thing over and over. From low end supervisors all the way to the sheriff. Decade after decade. Same old speech every new rank gives us. When new, they come in hot. They give their speeches, stir things up, and once they find their groove for that next promotion or once they are slated for the next big thing they fade away. As for the sheriff. We seen it all before. Change the cars, change the graphics, new uniforms, new patches, a few superficial policy changes, toys, and they fade away. No different here. I prefer the no media fluff better though. In the end, for us, front line actual first responders that grind it out in the zone day after day and take the brunt of the exposure, week after week, month after month, year after year, decade after decade, its all the same. We are governed by the law out here, not fluff. No matter the cars, guns, uniforms, unless the laws change, its all the same. No matter how good you get, no matter your skill, no matter how caring, smart, or “good” you are, you disappear. . While the big wigs play their rat race ladder climbing money making game. I can care less who is in power, what they do, or who gets promoted. All I ever ask for is, at a minimum, give us the basics. At least do it to shut us up about the big wig games. Staff us, get us home on time, get us to lunch like everyone off patrol cleverly gets, give us back our mid shift, give us floater units, give us time to write, sift through these non criminal BS calls, stop sending us to high emotion calls when not leo related, and back off on the little things that mean nothing in the long run. Stand up to other agencies and stop putting the liability on us when it comes to other agencies or businesses. Focus on fixing the basics, then go play your bureaucratic games. Cant do that when the pillars and foundation of the crystal castle are in disrepair.

I saw that. I thought he did an amazing job. He’s really very good at everything. Probably the best sheriff in the last 50 years.

It’s been over 50 + years since Hillsborough County has had a candidate, that was not “groomed “ win the office of Sheriff. Want things to possibly change for the better, cut loose the “dead weight!”
