What idiot invented a K9 unit at USF PD and wrote up a plan for it, and it was passed. They are going to spend a lot of money on this BS? Someone has to get a grip on this. What are we talking about here anyways with a K9? An aggressive German Shepard attack dog liked they used in the 1960's, when black students rioted for equal rights and the dogs were sicked on them for protesting? Or is it poodle drug dog sniffing dog that will be used for every traffic stop where they suspect marijuana, but can't find the seed on the traffic stop? Totally unbelievable.
Marijuana under 20 grams is being legalized in every jurisdiction in the State and country with a citation.

Why is USF PD the hold out on this anyways? When it's all college kids that are probably the ones smoking the stuff and have been for years and will not end? What a huge waste of the money.

Lets focus on the real problem, that needs to be fixed- Driving under the Influence of Alcohol.

This is like passing someone on the interstate and you have to look over to see if they look as dumb as they drive. I really wish I could see you right now.

Yeah, you sound like someone who would go out and bust their a** finding DUI’s all night...Get real...A K9 is a tool that is appropriate for a place with a population of our size. Look at some of the large scale events held at USF. You don’t think it’s necessary to at least have a bomb sniffing dog? Get out from underneath the rock that you live under. You sound like a complete idiot and I’m pretty sure that you don’t work for us. Your probably a liberal pot smoking hippie that got his first slap on the wrist by a campus cop lol.

Ya, right you are going to find a lot of bombs at the USF events. Good luck on that. Get back to work and find those DUI's that need locked up.

Pretty sure that if this program does get off the ground. It will be a watered down, no wait, a drowned version of what a K9 should be after General Council, criminology professors, student reps, enviormental heath and safety, PETA and every other dog owner offers their opinion.

The lack of $upport from USF itself is also very obvious. Whats next for us , a raffle to raise funds.

Why do we need this? Another thing to put on a recruitment announcement maybe? Can we just figure out how to be a Department without panic stricken action plans for annual events

Poor pup. He will be putting in applications at his 3 year mark. Hopefully he didn't leave a paw print on the contract.

Sorry, the original post is just from a black student and looking to get into law enforcement and has heard about this program being started at the USF campus and is concerned about the K9 dogs being used on a college campus for students concern.

Maybe we should master basic patrol before we add yet another half baked recruitment magnet.
