    There is freedom to be proactive but we’re always at minimum so there’s not much time. Morale is low due to a terrible robotic sheriff who can’t see his faults which is causing us to bleed good quality cops.

    We’re better than Lee County, De Soto and Hendry.

    So, is Charlotte a good department to join up with? Why do you say that there better than the above depts mentioned?

    Better equipment, lower call volume, less dangerous, higher base pay

    Depends on the district, there definitely is dope to find. Foot chases aren’t a nightly thing but they happen from time to time. You definitely aren’t running and gunning all night. We write reports on everything to include civils and public assists.

    Just curious... Why do so many leave from Charlotte? I may have only spoke to the sour apples, but all of them trash this department.. seems like a nice place to work near the water.

    Sheriff created a toxic work environment where only numbers matter. It’s a beautiful place to work though
