Not nice to infer an affair. Just because they were close in Miami Dade and Miramar does not mean that they were anything more than just good friends. The fact that they were seen together away from work Does Not imply anything beyond good friends. Anyone would take care of a close friend in her position. His performance and knowledge may have been somewhat lacking, but doesn't that apply to most people in the PD? Why single him out? Gary, and now Gene have been covering for him just fine. Mind your own business and worry about your own performance.

If I ever get accused of piss poor performance, please don't come to my aid. Somehow your defense of him has fallen flat. All you have done is justify his uselessness. You must be a liberal Democrat that believes everyone is entitled by just showing up. Even if so, he ain't even showing up anymore.

No Precedent
There are plans for Slick Willie (SW) to leave MPD in the future. Technically, he was gone the day he was hired, but that's besides the point. Back to those plans, the administration has determined that he will be asked to retire on his 89th birthday. It has been deemed that direct depositing his salary into his bank account any longer than that "might" be unethical. Naturally, he will continue to be supplied with a new take home vehicle during this time and full benefits. Note: this accommodation should not be construed as applicable to other members of MPD. All others will be expected to work for salaries, and should this become a problem, said person shall be sent for a "fitness for duty evaluation" (FFDE). During said questionable time periods others will be required to turn in take home vehicles. All of said accomodations for Slick Willie shall Not be determined to set a precedent for other employees. Failure to pass a required FFDE will result in termination for any other MPD employee. Note: should SW refuse to retire on his 89th birthday, as requested, he will be terminated from MPD on his 95th birthday - although he will continue to have his salary direct deposited into his bank account until his 100th birthday. Again, this Shall Not be construed as setting precedent for any other MPD employee.

Actually, in spite of this ridiculous post, an arbitrator in an arbitration hearing may find that precedent has been set. It would be wise for everyone to take note of what has been going on here. Past practice, as it is called, often plays big in arbitration hearings. Should the city try to terminate you for some alleged inability to function this situation could factor in an important way in saving your behind. Don't blow this off as it could have important ramifications for some of you in the future. Keep the situation in that back of your minds.
