Found the decision to release the shooting suspect perplexing; who authorized it? Generally during the course of a questionable, fatal use of force case, an experienced Assistant State Attorney is available for consultation. Did the ASA agreed with releasing the suspect or did someone higher, like Melancon, based in his vast investigating, legal acumen made that decision?
