Journalism can never be silent: that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault. It must speak, and speak immediately, while the echoes of wonder, the claims of triumph and the signs of horror are still in the air.

Not one but two IRS TAX LIENS, 2006 and 2018.

Who cares? If being related to someone who has had financial issues was a LEO disqualifier this agency would have about 20 people working at it.

    Well well

If that is the worst thing you could find on Paul Fern was an arrangement with IRS to pay on back business taxes then he wins the background check portion of the race already. I’ve read all the crap on Hoffman over and over again on here.

Arrangement? Tail's on fire. IRS made a demand for unpaid taxes and the miscreant spouse-of-the-sheriff-candidate refused to pay. Bam! slapped the tax dodger with a federal tax lien.

Thank you for pointing out dirt on a woman and/or on other women. However, so you have dirt on any of the candidates, such as:

Are you suggesting that Kurt Hoffman lives with Paul Fern?

Kurt Hoffman has admitted to stealing gas after he was sworn in as a Reserve deputy sheriff. That says it all.

    wackadoodle hall of fame

questions for sheriff candidate Paul Fern

    1) Your primary gig is Wings n Weenies on Fruitville Rd so tell me how many employees you manage and how much you pay them. Since your sistah in a previous post is interested in women's issues, is it reasonable to asssume you pay them $15/hr with health and family leave benefits?
    2) Your highest rank at SSO was deputy. Does that qualify you to run a multimillion dollar agency? Will you bring in your Wings n Weenies partner Joann Martello to tackle the budget?
    3) Formal education: GED? plus a canine nutrition seminar?
    4) Will you hire all-guns-no-brains Jug Ears (95 Bravo Protection Services, Bradenton) as your consultant?...
    5) ...speaking of which, what's a "constitutional sheriff"?
