I had jury duty yesterday, and got an unusual surprise.

This was a Fatality case involving a tractor trailer - car. Big money case!

The insurance company’s attorney had me removed from the jury pool because one of three Morgan & Morgan Attorneys was a former FHP trooper. They said I would be bias.

Interesting!

We must have more than one trooper turned attorney. His first name was John. Last name started with “B”

Trial was in Polk County.

20 years ago, we worked in Miami together, and went to THI school together. At the two week THI school he went out to party every night (liked to drink and chase girls). They warned him, me and several others we were going to fail the final exam. He Aced the exam.

Six months later aced the sergeant exam.

Did the Ironman Triathlon, then quit FHP to go to law school.

The last time I saw him we were at TRT school.

Glad to hear he is doing well.

Worked with John in Dixie County in early 90s.

During the “No Name Storm Berke’s patrol car was hit by a tornado. After getting out of car he saw the tornado completely destroyed a trailer park , John found several dead kids. (Messed him up for a while)
