Only one "idiot" on this site that apparently clicked on the same thread almost 550 times since it was started at midnight yesterday? Wow, you're an awesome detective.
Scotty won't be back. Even his idiotic minions like yourself, are just too dumb to see that.

Any registered democrat who gives a rat's ass should vote for a throw away candidate in the primary. Then you will see who votes for and supports the murderer.

The murderer NC did that to those beaustiful children and adults.

Failure to do their job, is those who did not act.

Coral.Spring PD is not a bunch of heros. No gun fire when they arrived on scene and they took a few minutes too.

    Should I continue.

SI is not the best but at this point, there is no one better. Put yourself out there if you think you are better. If we believe you are, we will vote for you. But of you are a finger pointer, than you are no better and will.lose.

Broward needs a champion. Are you it?
    Move on if not

Broward does not deserve a champion.

Israel enlisted bso into the promise program that helped shield Cruz from being arrested for previous crimes.

Shall we continue. Israel along with pollock and the rest of the broward county school board are all at fault for their failed policies.
Ok, I'LL explain whhy Israel was NOT to blame for the MSDHS shooting.

First, nothing that the Sheriff's Office could have done would have guaranteed that Cruz would not have been able to obtain the firearm that he did. nothing that Cruz did would have resulted in his life long incarceration or commitment. And, as convicted felons seem to be able to obtain just about any type of weapon that they want on the black market, there was nothing to stop Cruz from doing the same thing.

Second, The choice of District Commander had nothing to do with the shooting. In these situations, the commander is not standing over a sand table with her responding forces all mapped out. It is virtually impossible, and can cause all kinds of problems, for an off-site commander to take control. That is the job of the on-site commander. In this case, the on-site commander was Dep. Peterson. No ranking officer arrived on scene, until the shooting was all but over. And, then the intelligence which Petersen was providing was limited and another deputy was providing faulty intelligence as to the location of the shooter. There were problems with the post incident control and coordination which can be laid at the feet of the District Commander. But, they did not affect the shooting incident itself.

Third, there was nothing wrong with the policy in reference to responding to an active shooter in a school. In this case, you had a single LEO on scene. Now, I know of NO agency in the US whose training mandates that a single officer enter a building to neutralize an active shooter. In fact, all of them, of which I am aware, mandate that the first responding officer wait for the arrival of at least one other officer before entering and most training with four man entry teams. what the policy, in place at the time of the MSDHS shooting did was to allow the on-scene deputy to make an informed decision as to the desirability of making immediate entry in such a situation. Given the timing of his arrival outside Bldg. 12 and the information which he had at hand, it is still highly debatable as to whether an immediate entry by Petersen would have materially changed the outcome in relation to the dead and wounded.

Fourth, it was not the responsibility of the Broward Sheriff's Office to provide security for MSDHS. That was the province of the Broward County School Board and its employees. Now, in this case, the school failed to provide adequate entry control to the campus. Several of its employees, operating in the position of security officers, saw Cruz on campus. They all knew him and that he was disruptive and presumed to be dangerous. And they all saw him in possession of what was clearly a rifle case. Yet, not one called the office on his radio and notified the administration or the SRO of Cruz's presence. By the time Petersen found out that Cruz was seen on campus, Cruz was already beginning his shooting spree. It has been agreed that Cruz was finishing shooting up the first floor and was moved on to the second, at the time Petersen arrived. Then we have the policy of the school to delay putting the security camera feed on screen for 15-20 minutes. This made it impossible for responding deputies to have real time intelligence on Cruz's whereabouts and movements. Cruz had actually left the campus before most of the responding LEOs had arrived.

Fifth, as to the Promise program, this was the brainchild, not of the BSO, but of the Obama administration. And, every single Democrat politician in Browad County signed off on that program. It is more than a little unfair to attempt to blame this on Israel.

Now, Israel had a number of shortcomings as a Sheriff, and a LEO. And, it is fine to bring these to light when discussing the pros and cons of his reelection. But, neither Israel nor the BSO were responsible for the MSDHS shooting incident. The agency directly responsible for this debacle was the BCSB and the school administration and employees.

But, here is the kicker here. Israel's suspension was a political stunt, by a newly elected Republican Governor. It engendered NO criticism from Broward County Democrat politicians, as they were happy for the political cover that scapegoating Israel gave them. Also, it was unprecedented, in Florida history. I believe that Israel is the only sheriff to be suspended who was not under arrest of indictment for crimes. And, if the voters of Broward County were unsatisfied with Israel's performance, as Sheriff, they could have filed a recall petition and removed him from office. This did not happen. And, Israel's suspension has still not been upheld by the Florida Senate. And, though it is likely that the Republican controlled Senate will uphold the Republican Governor's suspension of Israel, it is not assured.

The 2020 elections should be interesting.

You've convinced me. I'm changing political affiliation from NPA to D. I'm voting for Greg Tony. Yes, MSD was the fault of BCPS but Israel is presenting himself as an ally of Runcie and Osgood. Signing on with PROMIS was the tail wagging the dog. The last thing Broward needs is a leaf in the political wind of radical leftist ideas. Thanks for clarifying the issues.

As we all affirm Broward Country is an animal all in it's own. We have extremes left and right at a constant battlefield and it could go either way. I myself voted for Scott Israel and saw the manipulation and circus that went on with the focus blame on our Sheriff Scott Israel. Far from fair but unfortunately that's the way most expected to go down. However the complete truth surfaced recently with Senator Rick Scott who called out the FBI who made so many mistakes and should have taken the blame from the beginning.
We were all made to believe and trust the media thinking they have the right story. Untold to us who are the voters of Broward county we were manipulated to believe an untrue story.
We know and trust Scott Israel. He may have made some mistakes but who doesn't? Scott Israel is sharper and now geared with so much knowledge to move in all the right direction. You go and win this Scott Israel 2020 and be better then ever. We believe in you Scott Israel and again we will be voting for you despite the two or three on this sight that bash your name for political reasons.

You really do not get it, do you?

Israel had a lot of issues which didn't make him a good candidate when he first ran and those problems still exist today. Personally, I haven't voted for anyone for Sheriff for the last 30 years. None of them were good Sheriff material in an urban county. And, I see no one in this upcoming election who is any better. The Broward Sheriff's Office is a major metropolitan police agency which also has detention duties as well as duties to the judiciary. It will take a very knowledgeable, strong executive to control the agency. And, there is no one out there with that kind of resume. So, you are free to vote for whomever you wish; or no one at all.

What I do object to is people parroting the lies which were spread blaming the MSDHS shooting on the Sheriff's Office and almost totally ignoring the agency which WAS responsible for the security of the MSDHS campus and whose employees failed to take appropriate action when they saw Cruz on campus just prior to the shooting, the Broward County School Board. Like it or not, the suspension of Scott Israel was nothing more than an act of political scapegoating. It was a political pay-off to certain Broward supporters of the Guv. It protected the BCSB and school system, as well as the rest of the Democrat political establishment. The Governor took no action against any of the members of the school board, which had direct responsibility for the security lapses at the school, and every other school in the county. No recall petition was ever filed against Israel. So, the voters, who elected Israel, have had NO chance to weigh in on his fitness for office. Israel was not arrested or indicted for criminal negligence. Even the charges against Peterson are ludicrous and will likely all be dismissed, except for the perjury complaint. So, it is possible that, even if the Senate upholds Israel's suspension, that the voters of Broward County may vote him back into office, in 2020. That is democracy.
