Chief Williams, please don't replace recently departed Slick Willie with another ignorant political hack like he was. You need a competent person with good judgement. As an example of Slick Willie's incompetence please consider the following. When the building department's electrical inspector was not available a genius in city hall told SW to send out a code officer to conduct electrical inspections. SW ordered a code officer to go out and do them. The code officer rightly refused. The code officer was not a certified and licensed electrician, as required by law, and had no clue about the topic. The whole thing would have violated state laws and the Florida building code laws. In addition the liability would have been incredible for the city, not to mention the safety factor. Either Slick Willie was too stupid to know better or did not have the balls to say no. Probably both. When someone complained about some trash on the Homestead Extension of the Turnpike he sent a code officer to deal with it. He did not know that it was FDOT's job to handle it. West of Flamingo Road along the county line is a row of homes in Miami Dade County. SW ordered a code officer to issue Notices of Violation to the Miami Dade residents in Miami Dade. He fully knew it was Miami Dade. Do MPD officers make arrests in Dade County because some Miramar resident does not like someone's conduct in Miami Dade? I could go on an on about SW's lack of knowledge and extremely poor judgement. I could write down examples until tomorrow. So what's the point? The point is that you as Chief, your administration, department, and the residents deserve better. Please step up to the plate and resist any efforts to replace him with another unqualified political hack again. Please get involved in the process and get someone who is very qualified and exercises good judgement like we had before SW. Thank you.
