Health insurance is free for just the officer and for a family I about $125 ish bi-weekly. Contribution is 11.5% but you can leave at 20 years unlike FRS and you can buy back up to 5 years of LEO or military.

It’s obvious how stupid you are. How can you compare one of the best retirements in the country to a city pension where you contribute 11.5 percent of your check. Deduct the 11.5 of the starting pay and you’re back down to your Doral salary. You deserve to go work for them, so please leave.

FRS one of the best in the country?? Maybe before 11 which it was gutted. Did you know you have to do 30 years in FRS just to get 75% and there is no cola after retirement. Stay making your $53K a year salary

Sounds fair with the retirement. I really think FRS needs to be restructured. The 30 years of sevice sucks. 25 years is fair 30 is crazy before you know it will be 40 years of service.
