It was interesting to see the original advertisement pulled and a new one with different qualifications put in its place. That gives the appearance that they decided the original ad didn't reflect what was needed or they have someone in mind that didn't meet the original requirements so they had to change them. In any case I hope we get someone that fits this place and not someone that ends up being a bad example. Things are running great without a chief or toadie but nothing good lasts for long.

Well the new qualifications are harder to meet, rumor has it there doing a. Atonal search looking for someone already acting as a chief of an ABT type agency

Problem is that there really aren't any other agencies run like this. We really are a unique beast.

    - No Chief
    - No Assistant Chief
    - No full-time training LT with Ms. Garcia set to retire in less than a year.
    - Equipment in shambles
    - All command office staff looking for jobs
    - An SRT "commander" that thinks he runs an elite SWAT unit
    - Ridiculous performance expectations written by people who have NEVER done the job

The only way this place MAY survive is if they can get a Captain that has been here long enough (which is maybe 1 or 2 of them) that has come up through the ranks to be Chief.

If someone does come in from the outside they will bamboozle the Director and DD saying how they will follow the "new direction". Whatever they need to get the job. They are cops. Like most of us, they know how to lie, manipulate, and influence a subject to get what they need from them. Whatever it takes. Then when they get here they will see what it is really like not being a "real Chief" or a "real cop". Then it's Titusville/Choice #3 all over again!

    Rough waters ahead, either way.
