Bob drago: The traveling trustee!!! Vote carefully

Voting for pompano beach pension fund trustees is around the corner!!!!

Mr. Drago has a spending problem! He enjoys traveling the country. No doubt that trustees have a duty to continue their educational exposure to the changing landscape of pension laws, regulations and litigation. Trustee drago has taken this concept to a new level.

He has spent $50,000 in travel and education in his first 3 years and its not only unreasonable; its unconscionable! This amount is 3x's the amount of any other trustee over the same period!!!

This is the difference between serving the membership and being self-serving! Trustee are supposed to serve us not serve their vacation whims!!!

This is 100% verifiable via board minutes!!!

A vote for bob is a vote for his frequent flyer miles and against our pockets!

Brought to you by Andrea Levine who is still upset that she did not get 187K as a lump sum before graciously sharing with everyone else. 200 plus people got a 13th check where Andrea wanted to keep it herself

This was an Email Blast today!!!!!

Remember how this past December we got what could be called a Xmas bonus from the Pension Board. We liked it and we want it to continue until the money runs out. So think about that as you read the following.

Here are 4 reasons to vote for Mr. Hanrahan and not Mr. Drago for

    Pension Board Trustee

First. We should compliment the Board of Trustees and the staff for the work they are doing to preserve our Pension Fund. We compliment the Board’s resolution of the 185 funds which resulted in an equitable distribution to ALL members. We should all be specifically grateful to Trustee Dan Christophers for his work on connecting BSO, the police union and the City. In November 2016, Mr. Drago challenged the original plan for 185 fund distribution and he volunteered to pick up the ball and find a solution (See Board minutes of 11/21/16) Mr. Drago never followed through and dropped the ball. That was when Trustee Christphers picked up the ball and accomplished that final resolution which resulted in the initial distribution of 185 funds in December 2018. (See Board minutes of 6/18/18.) No doubt, Mr. Drago will take credit for the resolution, but the real credit belongs to Trustee Christophers.

Second: One of the most important tasks for the Trustees is investment policy and strategy with minimum risk. Read the Board minutes of 11/20/17 where Mr. Drago expressed interest in cryptocurrency investments. Mr. Drago, you are wrong! Our Pension investments have no business being invested in cryptocurrency!

Third: Mr. Drago has a displayed a pattern of disrespect for our Administrative staff during his term. These ladies are the pillar of our Pension Fund! The proof of his contempt is in his emails to staff. I urge you to make a public records request for the email exchanges which occurred in September/October, 2017 and review for yourself his demeaning treatment of our staff. His disrespect was so pervasive that Mr. Drago was cautioned against creating a “hostile work environment” (see Board minutes 10/16/17). Even after this caution the disrespect continued. Make a public records request for the email dated 7/10/19 in which Mr. Drago demanded a unilateral change in the agenda for an upcoming Board meeting. The tone displayed in these emails speaks volumes.

Fourth and finally: Mr. Drago has no problem spending Fund money to travel the country. There is no doubt that Trustees have a duty to continue their educational exposure to the ever-changing landscape of pension laws, regulations and litigation. Mr. Drago has taken this concept to a new level. $50,000 spent in travel and education in his first three years was not only unreasonable; it was unconscionable! This amount was TRIPLE the amount of any other Trustee over the same time period. That is the difference between serving the membership and being “self-serving.” If you vote for Mr. Drago you are simply adding to his frequent flyer miles!

WOW! Adding actual proof to a slam (board minutes) to a Leo Affairs post, that's unusual! May have to take a good look before I vote! If this is half true it's not good at all.......

Why did Hanrahan refuse to aggressively the 185 money when he ran the PBA? The PBA refused to touch the 185 issue for years. Pat just needs more drinking money

$50k? 3 times as much as any other board member? Sweet Jesus, the guy spending like a drunkin sailor! Isn't that our money? That's a rhetorical question, IT IS OUR MONEY!!! Berating the staff? Unacceptable, Pat has my vote

Why is Bob taking credit for work he didn't do?? Per the board minute citations, seems Dan C did the heavy lifting.... Your slam has no real proof, just hating! I'll read the minutes and if they are as purported, Roberto has some splanin to do!

How is it negative if the minutes are proof and substantiate the post? Seems to me you'll call them dirty because they cannot be refuted logically. Pat will definitely do his best to take care of the members, not berate the staff, not suggest scam investments as viable, and definitely not waste our money on vacations!

I will never trust anyone from the PBA with money. No matter who wants/gets the credit for the 185 is an afterthought. We have it and under the PBA and Hanrahan we were told no
