One candidate begged to be "appointed" as a supervisor. He also has a criminal history of multiple thefts (both misdemeanor and felony) and lying under oath. Granted, he was only caught lying under oath once, but that is enough. The other candidate has no criminal history whatsoever. Nadda. Zip. Zilch. Both candidates are very different from each other and each would run the Sarasota Sheriff's Office very differently.

Candidate Kurt Hoffman:

• Has never worked as a beat cop.
• Has never owned nor operated a private business.
• Has never made money from a non-governmental job.
• Has a documented record of:
  (a) Stealing from taxpayers (stole gas from CCSO and stole items from Charlotte Mosquito Control)
  (b) Stealing from citizens (stole a boat from a person)
  (c) Stealing from a private business (stole pornography from a retail outlet).
• Then he failed a lie detector test when he was questioned about these things. He did not tell the truth until after he was caught.

Candidate Paul Fern:

• Has worked as a Sarasota County beat cop and retired with a pension.
• Has worked as a federal law enforcement officer.
• Has owned and operated successful businesses (plural).
• Has made money without using taxpayer dollars. Much like President Trump, he is successful with running a business, but he has no experience being a slimy politician.

Facts speak louder than political promises.
