Then the Sheriff will never care about us. Billboards won't matter. No confidence votes won't matter. Sheriff won't care about public reaction because he will be working for County Administrator Bertha Henry. And her cheapskate staff will be negotiating the contracts with us. County employees get smaller COLAs and don't get steps.

Deputies should vote from a group of candidates within the agency. Of that group, the top three are voted in by the public.
