You should really stick it to the man and quit, too. Then we can discuss how easily replaceable you and the other whiners are.

Really... really??? Such a win when we need people. Yeah such a win when the stress and officer safety issues related to not having the proper staffing will result in more people leaving.. You probably don't care since it doesn't matter to you. You likely have a office gig and will not be required to wear a body cam even though you have a badge and a firearm. Great mentality with a side of double standard. Some would think the ones who are not required to wear cameras are somehow corrupt.. If patrol is required to wear it, all with a gun and badge should have to wear it... More will be leaving.

People are needed, yes. But loyal, moral people. Not morally corrupt flakes who are afraid of cameras. Good riddance.

Loyal? As we have seen with the Trump administration, people can intentionally do wrong and be called or claim to be "loyal". Doesn't mean they have good moral. Some who have good moral leave because they know wrong from right.

By you saying that, then you don't know this job. This job, done correctly, is NOT photogenic. We can not act in a way that “looks good”. We are not actors. Its not the “crooked” or immoral things the cameras will capture. Its actually how we go easy on people that, on camera, would look bad. How about having to take every single BS complaint that crackheads, bums, and crazy people make at face value. As a cop, we have to make sure complainants are legitimate and that process is not pretty. Sometimes people need to be told things their parents failed to do so. Since this county uses us as the answer to every damn problem, we have to know a little bit of a whole lot. We are masters of nothing and that does not look good on camera. Especially at this agency. Sometimes letting people vent and giving them a good lecture solves the problem. With cameras, every call will be a documented criminal investigation. We do not have the time, resources, and especially the staffing for that. Even if we were staffed to the agency’s definition, its not enough deputies. This agency is not ready.

We see bad intent in people that call us, based on experience, that a lay person reviewing footage, will not be able to see. We have to sift through BS allegations and cameras will take away our ability to do so and discretion. Most people that call us are not victims. Most are nosey bored people that want to see drama. This agency enables that by sending us to calls to handle non leo issues that we lave no business dealing with. We do the best we can, but in the end, there is no right way to handle those cases. Anyone can review the footage and critique any little thing we do.

Smoothing over domestic calls with common sense, just talking to both parties, and coming up with a plan will go away. Prepare for arrests on most domestic calls.

Lastly. Our own brass does not know our jobs. And that is the worse part of all this. Businessmen, accountants, lawyers, politicians, ass kissers, narcissists, megalomaniacs, rank chasers, and social status climbers will review our footage with all the time in the world to pick apart what we have to decide in a hectic split second. Not actual cops. This job has become pure trash. Cameras will make things far worse.
