There was an attempt to disband FHP back in 2011 but the sheriff's statewide pushed back the idea since they will be stretched out thin working the large volume of crashes on the highways.

Will as a tax payer. I am seeing the way thinks are developing and nothing is changing. The management is waiting to retire and it is the next guys problem. Management for the Florida Highway Patrol is not doing their jobs and their is no collective bargaining.

Go to legislators and tell him to properly fund it or disbanded. Do what's right.

No they "pushed back" because they would only get FHP's funding for one year. It wasn't recurring and it would come out of their budgets starting year two.
