Under the Florida Sunshine Law, whatever the politicians do is already recorded and available to the public, so there is no need for body cameras. However police activities are not therefore the need for body cameras. Also politicians do not carry deadly weapons, but police officers do and that's where accountability and transparency comes into play because human lives are at stake.

If police are also subject to the same Sunshine Law (which only applies to publicly elected officials in the legislature) then why not use body cameras to recored public interactions? What is there to hide? Incidentally all local and state government meetings have been videotaped for many years now.
