    Call volume and activity

How is call volume in Pinecrest and how much traffic do they expect from you guys? Now a days, does not pay to be proactive, so if you just handle your calls, and no traffic how is your monthly evals? How political is it compared to working say Station 5. You guys get take homes? If so how are you allowed to use it?

Thanks any information would be appreciated, and how is morale?

    Also FRS?

Call volume varies. We handle lots of burglaries to homes and vehicles, car crashes, but also handle lots of BS calls(cats in trees, people locked out of cars, etc). We do run LOTS of traffic since we have US1 run though our city and its a great way to pass the time. We are VERY political. Very few make it here long-term due to the political influence. These rich folks will get you in trouble with 1 phone call.

Take homes- we have none, except specialized units. We fought for years to get them but the department will not budge. You are given a car allowance but it's not much.

Morale is HORRIBLE! Like I said before, pine crest is a department where you get your feet wet and leave. Be cautious because the department will load your files with write-ups if they find out you applied elsewhere. True story.

And we are on a private pension, which sucks. You cannot transfer the time and will have to start fresh at the next agency.

My take away from all this: do not come here! I'm only here because they sponsored me, but I've already applied to several departments. They economy is great and many places are hiring. Find elsewhere and work where you are appreciated. Good luck!

Pinecrest is an excellent place to work. They treat you well and benefits are good. All you need to do is don't be lazy. Be proactive, follow the laws and local general orders and you will not have any issues here.

    Interesting.

So your agency pays you a vehicle allowance in lieu of having a take home car program. Interesting concept. How much is it and is there a mileage component involved ? Are you expected to drive your POV to court related appearances downtown or are you allowed to use a PD vehicle for things like that ?

You can either come to the station and get a police vehicle to go to court or, use you PV and get mileage compensation from the County. You also get a sign which allows to use any police designated space. Regardless, Pinecrest is an excellent place to work as a police officer. JUST DO NOT BE LAZY AND FOLLOW THE GENERAL ORDERS. See you onboard soon.

    Think Again

Pinecrest is NOT an excellent place to work and they do NOT treat you well. Incompetent and inexperienced leadership, top to bottom.
There is a reason why so many officers have left and continue to leave this department.

    Morale at Pinecrest PD

There is absolutely zero morale at Pinecrest. It is a very unfriendly, stressful environment to work under. It all comes from the top down. No real leadership here. Only fear and intimidation.

    What a joke.

This place is a joke in the Law Enforcement community. No benefits, no money, no take homes, no leaders, no courage. The brass is a joke. Everyone knows how disgusting this department is. Im sure parking your POV in a space designated “marked police vehicles” will go really well for you. Make sure you save your money for when they tow your car. Don't dare ask your wonderful leaders for compensation. Take that printed “police court parking pass” and shove it.
