Shifts
This may have been asked and answered previously. If so, I apologize.
Does patrol work 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts? Are shift bids based upon seniority or management discretion?

It’s currently seven 6-hour shifts but they’re looking at alternatives.

12 hours.
Week 1 - 2 on/2 off/3 on
Week 2 - 2 off/2 on/ 3 off
Little of both if you want the honest truth.

The shifts are centered around Wednesday and Thursday. One week you only work wed and thurs and are off all the rest of the days. The next week you are only off wed and thurs and work all the rest of the days. This alternates. The good part is we get every other three day weekend off, but work the other three day weekend straight through. 36 hours of pure physically and mentally draining hours in three days. Thats the worse part, but the rest is nice.

ILL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT!
Why did they get rid of it? If they are bringing it back, then that means they acknowledge it has been needed all along. If that is the case, can any of you Kool Aid drinker blind loyalist tell me why they got rid of it? Was it worth so many deputies burning out and quitting? So many deputies on the fence about quitting did so after the mid shift left. How about you answer instead of insult?
