Command i s just there collecting a check and screw the employees and taxpayers, but it is going to stop, I'm telling you. I heard a recording that is...just...wow!

Yes, they are always reactive, and not proactive. They are so stupid; to REDUCE the spread of Covid, how about doing deep cleaning WEEKLY or three times a week; oh no, screw the employees.

Like someone said, comm dispatchers need to move legally and I heard that someone on one of the shifts has already gone to a lawyer about it; it is going to be a heck of a surprise when they end up on the national news, by the way. LOL
Are you talking about a certain someone in training being suspended?

I have heard of two possibilities, but this goes higher and farther.

Suspended hmmm. What’s going on communications is a complete train wreck. Why was she suspended?

Lack of leadership, lack of competent, logical, forward-thinking, proactive people will do that. Communications has been a train wreck since LZ and now with AM, even worse and don't even mention T, and AC and above.

Comm Dept Command = Chaotic? Where is the change?

    Can this all be true????

I can only begin to tell you some of the things almost all comm dept employees have confirmed has happened in their dept that bso command demanded be kept hush hush and didn't want the media to know about.

    Did you know?

For one, a then comm. dispatcher employee stole and sold all comm dispatcher's social security numbers. To the point that they had to cancel their CC, and some had money stolen. Supposedly the employee was arrested. Issue was corrected, as is BSO's MO, after the fact. Dept employees were specifically warned to not go to the media. Command seems so scared of the media.

Another one supposedly was accused of beating up her husband; when she came back, they promoted her.

Another had a DUI, they got a promotion when they came back.

LZ, while director, was supposedly sleeping with a comm dispatcher who later passed away in a cycle accident.

Another one supposedly treated (treats) her white employees abusively (she is black); they promoted her to upper staff.

A commissioner came by one day to "see dispatchers work." Turns out he was there for a 10 second photo op, and belonged to BSO's administrative staff and employees were never told; only told he was a "commissioner." His wife worked as top command staff too.

Same position as Cedeno; prior to Cedeno: guy was hung up on bettering attendance. A dispatcher called out sick. He supposedly went to her house and looked in the window, scared her to death, she called police, filed a lawsuit; he is OUT of BSO. Must have reached a neat agreement.

Dept director spent thousands of dollars for a report on how the dept could do better; supposedly never followed up on any suggestions in the report. Taxpayer money and employee time wasted.

Employees hear that Calea members love coming down to Broward. They walk through the centers, then quickly supposedly take off for the beach and some drinks. Accreditation my arse!

911 Ops are made to ask over 30 questions to callers in order to comply with Calea, yet those questions delay the calls that are input to the deputies;delay response time; delay getting answers. When employees have suggested to the director that they just ask questions to get the information as soon as possible, command points to Calea.

Deputies rarely complain about the dispatchers. That's one good thing. However, if only they knew how many calls come in complaining about Deputies that the comm dispatchers help appease so that no complaint goes in. Lay off deputies, we are all in this together.

When people started getting Covid, Cedeno, (who, is said, knows nothing about communications) supposedly was heard saying, "I don't care if they're sick, we need bodies in the chairs." Yeah, tell it to the poor comm dispatcher that died, and her family. Watch out command, there be cell phones out there that record, video & take pictures. You think they think they are immune from being caught? The people under them are watching and capturing everything they say so that, one day, they too, can defend themselves and save their arses.

Mize stopped sending the dept. informational emails that were very helpful to their health and their jobs, she cut them off because she was afraid of being exposed for the fraud they say she is. She assume that an employee is the one that threw her under the bus to one of the local papers. What an idiot to assume...something she tells her people never to do.

Hundreds of dispatchers see going to IA as a joke; those judging know nothing about communications, and are illiterate. When dispatchers go to IA, everyone from the site manager on up treats the employees like crap and like they are guilty without even being found guilty. So adversarial; so antagonistic. They get paid to snitch on their own employees. K a r m a....fun to sit back and watch it hit.

While a very good portion of what you say is true, not all is. We don't ask 900 questions of callers due to CALEA, it's in order to obtain and keep the IAED Certifications. BSO wanted to be the "first tri-ace" agency. And didn't care if EPD worked here or not. I believe every other large agency that tried it, scrapped it. But nooo, not us. You forget the dealing of LZ and her hookup with Israel. You forget how a certain group saved Mize from being fired years ago, only for her to turn on every single one of them. And don't forget LZ supposed affair with Kinsey. We've had people with drug problems get suspended, fired, win their jobs back, and get promoted. We've had a dispatcher go out on his break and pick up an undercover FLPD officer who was posing as a prostitute. Outright racist Duty Officers, of both colors. They harass people for using sick time, used to send units to our homes to check to see if we were actually there. Had Regionalization not happened, this place would've still had issues but not the severe lack or morale that we have going on. I've worked for sworn command before and this one is the absolute worst. Promoting people who are not qualified. This place is total shit. It needs an enema.

He's no hero. He may not have pulled the trigger but he contributed to Todd's death!

It’s really sad that everything said in this post is true. The media would have a field day if they knew about half the shit that’s went on over here.

The numerous unnecessary questions may not be due to CALEA, but it is for a poorly justified Certification which, by what everyone agrees, they are going to get anyway. The worst is having to deal with callers over 50% of which are always cussing us out because "you ask too many questions." They proceed to hang up, we have to turn around and call them back, which wastes time. We could be taking other calls, isn't that BSO' goal? For us to take 100000000000 calls one after the other, after the other, on a 12 hour shift with no mental health break or rest? I remember the one where they picked up an FLPD prostitute. LOL Total shit is right, and no one cares. We the employees, in the past, felt helpless, with a union that does not represent *us." Changes are coming, you will probably be contacted by an attorney in the next couple of months. They are mounting a case that is going to go national and affect and help every 911 comm opp in the country; and these phony comm command staff will be out the door so fast it will make their heads spin. For our lives, and for the sake of those calling 911 who actually have a true emergency.

Anyone willing to post the funniest 911 call they've gotten?
