I think before coming to any conclusions, some of us would like to have all the facts. Peterson and a plain clothes person is at the door of the building when something on the radio prompted both of them to move quickly to another location. Does anyone know what was said on radio and who that was with Peterson? We hear that a superior officer gave the command to set up a perimeter, when during this process was that given? Your policy at the time of this incident, seems to indicate you may enter as opposed to shall, is that true? Does the policy spell out justifications for not entering, and what you should do if you dont? Some very confusing info has been put out that there was students down in the courtyard and the shooter was seen heading toward a parking lot? Did Peterson take up a perimeter position before or after this superior officer told everybody to set up a perimeter? I am hesitate to past judgement on Petersons actions, without knowing what happened. Policework 101 about any investigation should have taught each of us that. Based on the logic of charging Peterson, any one know why he was the only one charged? Media coverage seemed to indicate mutiple BSO's taking perimeter positions and not entering.

You have some very valid points. But it seems that the democracy is gone. We are now in a total dictatorship and they will arrest and charge a cop with anything, when ever they seem fit to do so. They will now bow down to public outrage, instead of giving due process.

I have no idea why any young person would want to start a career as a police officer in the current day and age.

He was the only one charged because this was a bad arrest, not founded in any shred on probable cause, and was done strictly for political purposes.

The problem is this idiot that got on TV and was grandstanding after the arrest didn’t realize that BSO was actively training deputies to enter an active shooter scene in groups of up to nine or ten people, long after, and for quite a few months, after the tragedy at Stoneman Douglas.

How embarrassing that he would grandstand on an arrest of a man who was doing what his own agency was training people to do. Which is wait for back up. Do you realize how long it would take to assemble ten cops at an active shooter scene. Some districts don’t even have ten cops on the road!!!! It would take about as long as it took Peterson and company to enter.

Everyone knows you don’t stage, set perimeters, or wait for back up on an active shooter scene. You go in and kill the target, period.

Yes, WE know that, however, if you worked for Scott Israel and his (anti-) Law Enforcement Agency aka BSO between 2013 and 2019, you DO do the above as Israel's BSO was a staging department who enjoyed setting up perimeters and putting shows on to then wait for "LAW ENFORCEMENT" to arrive and ENFORCE the LAW; if you dared do anything other than that, you were punished.

Exactly right, but it still begs the question if this was your standard operating procedure whether written or just understood that way. Then how in the hell do you guys arrest a deputy foe doing what you trained or told him to do, or trained and told others to do???????
