Budget Money for Mental Health Officers? Where's that?

Bob was on video awhile ago complaining about the lack of money for mental health officers. He needs it for himself and for the deputies too. But now that he's a shill for the NRA and The Russia/UAE/Egypt, etc., coalition, he's all about technology, equipment. How about SOLVING crimes? Instead of sitting in the shade waiting for elderly speeders to roll by? And on that subject, how about you STOP letting deputies sit under CAR WASHES? It detracts from their business, knucklehead.

Mental health, mental health, mental health...NOW!

Actually PCSO leads the way in crisis intervention training for deputies. That trend started here and is catching on. CIT is one of the most practical classes you can take. And the Mental Health Unit falls in line with other contemporary police agencies. You may not see what they do, but they are dealing with things that were previously dealt with by the revolving door of Baker Acts through PEMHS.

PCSO has had a mental Heatlh unit for 4 years. That’s cause we have Sheriff who sees the needs and does something before it becomes follow the leader like Nocco. We start is and hillbilly Pasco follows. Our Mental Health Unit handles a lot of crap that deputies would have to deal with but we dont see. Ask someone who works in there an they will tell you the stuf they keep from us handling. PCSO is always ahead of the curve and CIT is an anothe example. HCSO announces they Wil now train everyone in CIT. PCSO has been moving that way for years. Who has the best CISM team too. Yes that would be PCSO.

    EAP over CISM

If you use CISM you are taking a risk for being found unfit for duty because of some volunteer "who cares." Get help from a real professional and call EAP. Work can't touch you and the LMHC or LCSW is required to keep your stuff confidential. CISM has a duty to tell if you broke any types of policies or procedures.

Didn't do Sgt Kaiser any good or others who also committed suicide. Patrol has fewer whack jobs but C&D is full of them.

Funny you mention that in such poor taste. The Crisis Intervention Stress Management (CISM) Team has been in existence for decades. There were multiple suicides on the LE side before Kaiser, three in one year. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has been around for decades. CISM is available anytime you need it. EAP is free for a certain period of time, then a small co-pay and it’s completely confidential. So plenty of resources have been in place for over three decades. Not everyone seeks help. It’s human nature to deny there is an issue. That’s life. More is done for people in need by this Sheriff than you will ever know. And he is the last person to ever discuss it. I’ve seen his harsh side when it comes to discipline. But I know of things he has done that shows he cares about people in ways you don’t care to understand. CIT, CISM, MHU and EAP are far beyond what most agencies have. And things have been done for people in need whether they were productive employees or not.

That’s the truth! The Sheriff has done a lot for people who were hurting and he does not talk about it but there’s no doubt he cares and takes care of people when then need help! Now for the screw ups yea he will slam you but when you need help he’s got your back.

Poor taste is the administration which pushed Kaiser to suicide. From the cruiser which rear ended him and paralyzed his wife (also a PCSO sergeant) to the lousy financial settlement which left them broke, and to the unwillingness of the jail administration to give him some schedule flexibility to better care for his paralyzed wife, for which the agency was liable. That's how the administration stands by its members when it screws up royally. And you have the balls to come here and defend this POS administration which could care less about its members when they are injured physically and psychologically, or develop some sort of substance abuse due to job stress?

What a bunch of BS. Bob could care less about everyone below him including his command staff. Everyone is expandable and disposable.
