This is why people hate and record us with their phones. Because of cops like you. First off, your last agency and experience prior to here means zip. This section if for this agency only. If you want to involve your last agency, find that forum.

Second, three years here? You are a rook. Maybe not a rookie cop. However, we are not here talking about police work are we. This site if for internal matters. Matters some of us have been dealing with for decades and up to three sheriffs. You have not been here long enough to know shiit.

Third, why we don't leave is because times were tolerable back then when we started. Some areas many of us started at during a different time under a particular district where our major, captain, supervisors, and so on were good people and we were a family. Things slowly changed and now we are in too deep. Like the frog in the pot.

Your very same paradigm is the reason why we have such a high turn over rate. People quit here after two to three years. An HCSO committee was created just for this phenomenon. You left your last agency looking for greener grass or more money for the shiny devil things. You went through that long over complicated hiring process and you were kept in the dark and told how you were in the running with hundreds of others. Then you got picked. Big bad you. You told all your friends and family over many months how great this place was going to be. You hoped and prayed to get hired. Then you busted your ass in SOT, the academy, modular, FTO, then phase five. I know for a fact you see the BS here, but you cant backpedal now. You in too deep and are part of the best of the best of the best, and if you leave, you will undo all your justification and hard work. Same with all these new guys I became friends with over the years that quit. “ Just make it past phase five then ill quit”. “ Ill give it 2 years”. “Ill go feds”. “Ill go TPD”. I heard it all. You are too tough to give in, but ill bet you anything. You just might be one of these guys that resign because, “They are moving back up north”. OP I couldn’t agree more with you. Just remember no matter where you work, there will always be that 1-2% that cry about everything. They will be happy. The original purpose of this forum does not matter, what it has turned into is a place where cowards can be tough guys. Please notice they will complain about everything, but never offer a solution. Remember these are the same guys, who tell all the war stories about all they have done, while being the same guy or girl to go x50 on the way to an in progress call.

Hit the streets. Grab a few holding calls. Take a few drowning property cases. Make friends with a few of us. I mean real friends. You will find that its actually 1-2% Koolaid drinking robots, fast trackers, and the divers that thrive. The rest are miserable drones, want out, and put on a show to prevent retaliation. Want proof? How many times, this year alone, have you found yourself asking, “He/she left? He/she was a good cop. Why?”, or “So and so is leaving? Why? Moving back up north?”. “What? Not miserable at all. Only bringing up valid issues that are backed by numbers and facts. You associated my assumed issues at work as a “life” problem.
