PCSO has the latest and best equipment (some of us anyway)

PCSO prides itself in always buying the latest and best equipment. The GMC Tahoes are a good example. Roomy, safe and comfortable vehicles able to carry a lot of gear. There are plenty of other examples as well which shows the agency leading in cutting edge equipment and obtaining the best for the troops. Good for you guys in patrol.

As for the jail, not so much. For example there are tons of decrepit, broken and unsafe furniture around, some of it looks like second hand stuff from a thrift store. Then there are the ergonomically mediocre chairs and office tables which do not fit right. It causes all kinds of health problems for jail staff. It has been reported but it's like pulling teeth trying to get new stuff. Getting the office furniture replaced with the correct items doesn't seem to be a priority except for the jail management. Their office furniture is top notch and is replaced immediately on request. It would be very helpful if whoever is in charge of office furnishings would put some effort into it and get us some good equipment like patrol received.

First, the Tahoe is a CHEVROLET not a GMC, the GMC version is a YUKON, yes both are General Motors but you have lost all credibility. Now go sit in your broken chair at the old desk.

Wow, you are a real beauty. I walk a lot more during a jail shift with the same gear (except for the G21) than you do in a week . If your Tahoe had a broken or crappy seat you'd cry like a biatch. Thanks for your support, brother patrol deputy.

Bro, no one cares about detentions Deputies. You’re a bunch of wanna be patrol deputies. You won’t ever amount to anything. People like the real cops, not you phony fat boys, whining and complaining about all the good stuff patrol gets. Patrol is the face of the agency and will always get the best of everything and treated better. Now go do a cell check. Get those steps in loser

Actually we are half the agency so everyone cares about D&C. Those of us who want to be patrol put in for it or leave for other agencies. Others don't want to be patrol and stay at the jail because they don't think much of patrol. You have plenty of fatsos in patrol too, it's not strictly a D&C thing. I have seen them loading up at Golden Corral, McDonald's and Waffle House. We don't care about what you get as long as we get the right equipment for us. That's what this discussion is about, the negligence on the part of the management to replace broken office equipment and furniture. Bob and his 3rd floor minions are the face of the agency, patrol only deals with the public with traffic and domestics, and when you hit on the convenience store clerks. At the jail we deal with hundreds of people 24/7, as well as lawyers, counselors, teachers, medical staff, etc. etc. so everyone sees us. Patrol by comparison is just a bunch of Uber drivers. Now go back and do some traffic and search those intakes good before you drop them in booking.

You need to understand, that patrol believes they are elites and have entitlement. Those that worked correction and then transferred to the road division, have a better understanding of what corrections is all about. I can assure you that if it was mandated, that all in patrol have to do a year in the jail. You would have a masses revolt on your hands, cause they wouldn't have the first clue, on what all the correctional officers deal with day in and day out. It's easier to just put down others.
