Edgewater PD
The rumor going around is that Edgewater PD participated in an open house at a local elementary school. While at the school the unknown officers told the kids to "not touch or play with the firearms." And the firearms were left unsecured in the vehicle. And as the story continues one of the kids (a 3rd or fourth grader) grabs a firearm and points it at another kid. The officers tried to keep it on the down low but things like this always seem to become known. What are the other details? Anybody from Edgewater or the school know?

It’s just that, a rumor. There was a career day event at the school and several officers were involved. Their patrol rifles were in their vehicles and secured in the rack.
A child went home and said they played with the guns and another child pointed the rifle at them. The parents called the school, who called the PD.
The child admitted to lying and wrote apology letters to the PD and school.
