Who gets ultra 2020
Discussion To Authorize The City Manager To Begin Discussions With Ultra Music Festival
Agenda Item R9-A
While Miami Beach United applauds the quick instinct to try to secure counter-programming for the month of March in order to regain quality of life during this high-impact month, at this time we do not support entering into discussions to bring the Ultra Music Festival back to Miami Beach. While there are arguments to be made in favor of doing so, none trump the ultimate quality of life issues which, at this time, remain unresolved, and based on what we know about plans for this event, would not be sufficiently addressed. While in the future, working with the producers of Ultra to do a music event that can be dispersed throughout relevant venues and timeframes may be worth exploring. until order is restored to the Beach during the month of March, bringing in an event of this magnitude that hasn’t been sufficiently reconfigured to address noise, traffic, and crime issues is adding fuel to an already too-hot fire. We encourage the Commission to continue working toward better enforcement of laws already on the books as well as proactively seeking out counter-programming that can improve, not further deteriorate, the quality of life and security for residents of Miami Beach during the month of March.

The City will be making a huge mistake letting Ultra Fest move to a different venue, I understand that 50 Biscayne and others in downtown will complain. But the amount of money, tourism and recognition this brings our city is dumb to throw it away just because of stupid politics. Yea people complain, yea it brings traffic for a weekend, of course our crime goes up for dumb crimes like lost or stolen cellphones, purses and other miscellaneous items. But the positive outweighs the negative, small shops and business in downtown boom with income on this weekend, as well as all other industries in the City and County, its the cycle of a large scale event in our city. Wake up commissioners don't let greed blind you on this topic vote correctly and do what is right lets continue the ULTRA tradition in our beautiful City it benefits all parties involved.
Lets not forget that with interventional recognition comes value, so all the residents at 50 Biscayne and other Downtown residents your property value goes up every time people speak about, mention Ultra. Your properties hold a unique value which people would die for so be glad you purchased when you did. Its like New Yorkers who purchased apartments across from Central Park many moons ago now enjoy the finer things in life along with a amazing value to a simple apartment.
