McDuffie Riot Weekend 39 Years Ago

This weekend is the 39th anniversary of the worst riot in Miami’s history, AKA The McDuffie Riots.

What started out the year before as a vicious beat down of a black former Marine after a motorcycle chase by our fellow cops in Brown (Metro Dade Police) and ended in the City of Miami. The subsequent not-guilty verdict of the Metro Police Officers involved by an all white Tampa jury almost instantly started a complete breakdown of law and order across a broad area of Miami and surrounding areas. Almost 20 people lost their lives, most innocent victims of brutal violence by criminals called rioters.

Unfortunately a group of MPD Motor Squad folks got involved in a minor police shooting durning a looting response and a few had career ending fallout from the follow up investigations.

You young folks at the MPD are not immune from a like riot happening again. You should take heed to make sure you stay out of the possible trouble that is always attached to your actions, especially in our world today that all your actions WILL be recorded by cameras and cell phones.

Stay safe and stay out of trouble.

Take heart, to what was posted. The city leaders WILL, do anything to claim down the people. Even if it means your career. Plus they will use these events as a platform to start a new pollical career, to gain votes. In this day and age, with everyone being able to film. Your rolling the dice, when you take action that's questionable.
