Seen him around with those police lights on. Why. His not a cop. Isn’t he committing a moving violation. Good one for the media.

If your mayor is driven about by a sworn member, then your question is inconsequential. If not, your mayor may be in violation of FSS 316. 2397 (1)

Find out if he maintained his reserve status. It must be noted that he was a pitiful cop when he was on the force. He made it to lt. but that took a lot of kneeling and Chap Stick.

Glad someone asked this question, for here is the prohibiting authority; none other than:
The CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA

From Florida Attorney General, Advisory Legal Opinion - AGO 86-84 Section 5(a), Art. II, State Const., provides in pertinent part:

"No person shall hold at the same time more than one office under the government of the state and the counties and municipalities therein, except that a notary public or military officer may hold another office, and any officer may be a member of a constitution revision commission, constitutional convention, or statutory body having only advisory powers." (Emphasis supplied.)

This constitutional provision prohibits a person from simultaneously holding more than one "office" under the government of the state and the counties and municipalities.

    Then again, is Hialeah!
