MBPD can no longer handle the problems
As a business man in the south area something has to be done. Sorry to say but we have lost control of law and order. Seems as the police can no longer handle the order. Something must change.

That's what happens when you scrutinize, ostracize and crucify the police just for doing their job. See, what you don't understand is that police work has become about survival and self preservation. So since the media usually portrays officers as the bad guys and those with power and influence perpetuate that narrative, the officers are forced to engage in a "light" version of the police work that used to be. Look around you, we all live in the Bizarro world now. What used to be right is now wrong and what used to be wrong is now right. (Or so they want us to believe.)

Homeless
Let's start with getting some of the cases off your back. It is reported homeless in MB takes up about 2/3rd of cases. Is this accurate?
https://www.miamiherald.com/news/loc...224019710.html
If true, does MBPD have an efficient and effective policy in dealing with nuance, since following that policing procedure, SAO then takes resources to drop charges, effectively wasting resources in an ineffective process.
What does MBPOs think is the best thing to do with this public nusance issue?
Had anyone studief solutions from PD or council? Is there a plan? What is it?

Well, for one the police, locally, has been handcuffed by the Pottinger Act (look it up) since 1998 till February of this year. Also, look at the news sometime and you will find that there is a national movement towards homeless rights, ie. California, Oregon and Washington state. That's what we have to work with. Not easy....

You can't possibly be serious... You say... "get your agency in proactive mode. Reactive is out." I don't know what world you are living in. But the police live in the world of Body Cameras and an ultra liberal society that views the police as the problem, not the criminals... Having said that, you have it backwards amigo.... Because Reactive is in and Proactive is out... Way out!!!!

Sorry buddy, reap what you sow. No proactive work, only reactive. I’m not going to risk my job nor my reputation to solve YOUR problems. Should’ve thought about that when you stood in line with the Michael browns, travon Martins, and Freddy grays. As we like to say, call your local crackhead to solve your problems

You can't solely operate reactive...you look like the bad guys. You want to prevent ...you look like the good guys. How do you think the phrase " good cop bad cop" originated? Figure it out use a little reverse strategy on the mob.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of gold.

In theory, this model use to work. But presence is no longer respected. So, deterrence has been marginalized now.
So, influencing your criminals to behave needs a new model. That's called prevention and that requires strategic interplay.
Not federal crimes, the local level strategies need improvement. Start with your stats, and chisel from there.
