We will see if the tahoes hold up as well, but judging from the reliability of the civilian versions, they will not. Bob owns that one.

The 9 mm ammo issued with the beretta was superior in every way to the .38 special. The only ones who say otherwise are the old geezers who spent their careers carrying the .38 s&w revolver, with fixed sights at that. Rice brought in the beretta and we finally moved into modern law enforcement.

Crown vic vs tahoe on safety, the tahoe is more likely to rollover and has worse handling, worse braking distance, slower acceleration, worse gas mileage, worse pursuit ability. The only advantage the tahoe has is more space for gear storage and more space for the fatsos. Whoppee.

As far as the pay steps go, the changes were made at first to give newbies more money to attract qualified applicants and it worked. The problem started when the budget director overstepped his authority and messed up the steps without rice's knowledge. That is one of the reasons rice fired him and brought in puller to fix the problem. Puller informed rice about the extra money required to fix the pay steps. Rice went to the county commissioners with the proposal but they denied him the money. This was a special project and the money could not be taken from the general budget surplus. But you wouldn't know that unless you attended the compensation committee meetings and read the minutes from the county commission discussions.

Rice also gave us civil service which can override the sheriff if someone is wrongfully fired. I am sure bob would like nothing better than to get rid of civil service so he can fire people without them wasting his time with appeals.

Rice gave good raises, no complaints there, because he was a sheriff who backed his deputies and genuinely cared about the staff. The only reason bob got the pay step fixed is because he was facing a big shortage of deputies and potential applicants were going to other agencies. He was forced to go to the county commissioners and prove he needed the money, and they gave it to him. So bob deserves no credit for the pay step, his hand was forced.

The promotional process went downhill under coats and got worse when bob was appointed sheriff. Plenty of good people have been passed over to promote bob's stooges and their relatives, friends and paramours. It's a disaster that is why we have so many incompetent supervisors and command staff.

    But bob's fluffers will disagree.
you are an idiot!!!! All of this is bs. You are obviously long retired and living in the past. They dont even make crown vics anymore dumb azz. Rice screwed us and was too drunk to care about anyone other than bunny and the nexr bar stool. The current sheriff had done good by us and you are a snot nosed has been whiner living 20 years ago. Go back to sleep geezer.

This ****ing guy, so stupid. Last year of Diplomats that we bought were in 1988. Then we got Crown Vic’s. Then we bought 1993-1995 Chevy Caprices with small block V8’s even thought 5.7 V8’s were available. They were slow, drove for shit and had horrible brake fading issues. Then we got back into Ford Crown Vic Interceptors in the mid to late 90’s. We also bought a limited number of Dodge Intrepids in the late 90’s that we’re total garbage. Then we got Fords again. Then in the early 2000’s we got crap hole Intrepids again!!! Followed by Chevy’s 2005 Impala that was a garbage front wheel drive V6. That year was horrible. Then we got 06-07 Impalas and they improved. Finally someone asked Sheriff Bob what he thought about deputies ducking to get into Impalas and he went and checked it himself. Boom! Chevy cancelled, welcome back Ford Interceptors. Full frame V8’s top American Police Car. Then Bob did what no one asked for. He got some Chevrolet Tahoe SSV. Bigger engine. More space. Full frame. The Michigan State Police put it through their proving grounds track. It beat the Ford Crown Vic Interceptor. It drives just like a car and has the balance of one too. If you see an SSV Tahoe flip it was hit or experienced something that would flip a car. Best police cruiser ever made.

The rest of your argument is all BS. Rice withheld proper raises. He threw money at the county. The original rounds in 9mm were just some garbage hollow points that couldn’t break glass. It wasn’t until that happened that we went to Gold Dot 9mm. Rice promoted legacies and family of contributors on a constant basis. Who was the judges kid who crashed into like five cars on Seminole Boulevard again? Walker. Yeah Rice ran PCSO like it was his personal playground for his drinking and womanizing in his office after hours with Bunny Schultz. Screw you dude. Some of us were there and know better. You live in a dream of a fairy tale. Enjoy your nursing home geezer.

Rice didn’t care what we drove or how old it got, hence his Crown Vic was in the low 100k miles as well.

And news flash, the .38 special packs way more punch than a 9mm moron. And when deputies are being shot at by a guy with an M1 we can shoot back. And three 9mm rounds stopped safely in that guys windshield. Perhaps you would like to pull the report on that case that happened on Squad 2 midnights around 2300 hours involving Page, Waulk and Martin. Feel free to ask how those 9mm rounds did you ignoramus. And I’m thinking you are not a deputy, our policy doesn’t use the term “can’t” or “shall never” without the words “unless.....”. Nice try buddy.

And I’m curious how Rice’s budget director “screwed that up” since Rice authorized the change. And if Rice didn’t like it why didn’t he just correct it? It’s not like it’s a rocket launch, there is such thing as a redo. And by the way, ad valorem taxes gave the county a wonderful revenue stream during the Rice years. In fact they were so strong that Rice routinely returned around $10,000,000 a year to the county. We we’re screwed on every pay raise under Rice.

Bob brought back the step plan for pay. Bob has fought for COLA increases as well. Bob put us in the safest cruisers known to law enforcement, the Tahoe. Bob got us out of the white uniform shirts which we asked for constantly under Rice and Coats. Bob tried changing the promotion process, something Rice and Coats never attempted. Bob is more involved in this agency than any sheriff ever before.

Your memory is faulty. Your facts are incorrect.

    Mic drop.
Just ask Clyde McPherson, suspect in above case. In the ambulance he said he was just shooting at white shirts in the night. Ask Sgt. J. M. In court security now. He was the one in the back of the ambulance.

I am a jail deputy so I could care less about the stupid Tahoes. Bob hasn't done squat for the jail except issue excessive punishments. Screw him.
