we need to find a retired officer that is still a member of the union. This way they have no agenda and will only work in the best interest of the officers that need the union.

Would not be a bad move as long as that person does not have a history of being part of the swamp in years past. Some of the retirees hate seeing an active officer getting hammered for some minor violation when they saw some in upper management skate on far more serious violations in their past. These retirees would have no problem with standing up for the officers and standing up to the city's

Retirees that remain in the Reserves are still sworn. Maybe that will help with the rewrite

Disagree a reserve or retiree should not be in office. They have no dog in the fight plus you would then have to pay them a salary from union dues.
