"The man" also said we will never do 12 hour shifts because he was against them. Guess what?! He did suddenly reversed and implemented 12 hour shifts. Those of you who think "the man" will never reverse himself on cameras are fools. If it suits his politics, Bob will announce body cameras are the best thing since sliced bread. Remember that he is a lawyer.

And don't forget he was dead set against medical pot, but when it looked like there was no escaping it, two faced pear shaped Bob turned on a dime.

"The use of body cameras by law enforcement agencies is expected to increase in the near future. As many as 95 percent of large police departments have said they either employ or intend to employ the technology."

Bob can't fight the tide of LEO technology forever and remain stuck in the 90s.

thats cause a whole bunch of us deputies wanted them. For those with a short memory the Sheriff was opposed but because we kept pressing the issue he did a survey and like 80% of the deputies voted for 12’s. he changed it because so many wanted them. You complain cause the man dont listen and complain because he did a survey and listened? Guess its just about complaining.

Every elected official (state or federal) should be required to wear a body cam and have it recording throughout their shift (no matter where they are or what agency) to stop back door deals, corruption, and lobbyist. Statistically, there are more politicians engaged in criminal activity then law enforcement officials. Elected officials are elected by the people to work for the people's interest. Why should we not be able to review what they are doing at work and what deals they are making..?

Not sure where you work but 80% of the jail staff did not want 12s. As a matter of fact we voted on 12s twice and 8s won by a 75% and 80% margins.

Rest assured that switching to 12s was a purely financial decision at a time when the budget was very tight because the sheriff was under pressure by the county commission to cut the budget. The idea that the majority of staffers wanted 12s is just a BS cover. 8s worked just fine since the inception of the agency so there was no other reason to switch.
