Should be $52,000. That way, FHP can stop complaining about troopers that jump ship to another high paying city or county agency after getting their paid training and certification. For decades, FHP has always struggled with being understaffed on the highways due to low pay. It's gotten so bad that they forced applicants to sign a two-year contract around 2008.
FHP base pay was $34.000 , the same pay since 2005 until the recent pay raise in 2017. Then That's 12 years of no raises!
FHP should disband the academy since they are only training future police officers and deputies.

Just throwing money at Troopers is not going to "Make State Troopers Great Again." Troopers have not been "Great" since the mid 80s. Back in the day, you knew not to disrespect a trooper. When a trooper arrived on a scene, his appearance alone commanded respect. Those were the days. Those days are long gone my friends.

Really disrespectful for you to joke about “legs sweeper out” since FHP state troopers were struck and killed by passing vehicles while on traffic stops and working on crashes the past couple of years.
You have no respect for the state troopers who died in the line of duty with your childish insults.
