John Kost retired honorably from the Sarasota Sheriff's Office. Why is Tracy Knight spreading disinformation by stating otherwise?

Here is a series of serious questions:

• Why must Tom Knight and his wife Tracy Knight resort to telling bold faced lies about John Kost to others? Why lie? What is the purpose of lying? What is the motive or the endgame of telling lies?

• Is this Tom and Tracy Knight's attempt to begin a "secretive smear campaign" against John Kost -- or against anyone else who dares to challenge Knight's incumbency for the elected office of sheriff in Sarasota County? Is Kost's reaction supposed to be cowering in fear, by hiding under a rock, away from public scrutiny?
  .
• In Tom Knight's mind, are lies and smears the only effective tactic for winning an election at any cost? And is this a taste of things to come? (sadly, it's Knight's status quo)

• Lastly, are Knight's lies based on his fears? Is he attacking what he fears the most?
