Must be due to his "stellar" performance as head of the Parkland Commission in which he covered up for former Sheriff Israel, who was promptly removed from office by Governor DeSantis. Don't worry Florida sheriffs, Gualtieri has your backs but not so for his own deputies.

How about a vote of confidence from the people who work in the agency and actually know what Gualtieri is really like? Not going to happen but we all know he would fail miserably because most people including his command staff despise him.

And what was the criteria for voting Bob as NSA's sheriff of the year? Did he bust a large drug ring or make a big drug seizure? Did crime stats go down significantly in a crime infested county under his jurisdiction? Did he put himself in some dangerous situation risking his life to save others? Other than fire and force out a record number of employees, what heroic acts did he perform to deserve this "honor".
