Isn't it comforting to know that his salary goes up every year but the step plan never changes. Once you get to the top the increases stop.

Wow he has gotten almost a 10% increase in his salary since 2009. I've been stagnant at 66k for years. The rich get richer

Knight makes 15k more now, than when he first started. He gets huge annual raises!
    FY 2018 - $6700 yearly raise
    FY 2014 - $5500 yearly raise

Upon retirement, how come deputies don't receive medical, while elected sheriffs do?

Because the sheriff is a member of a union. No, not the PBA, FOP or IUPA but rather the Florida Sheriff's Association. There's no oversight of these crooks.

Here's an idea: Allow deputies to join the Florida Sheriffs Association's medical plan at retirement, exactly as the elected sheriffs get.

Do you really think these thugs who do everything to keep us down want to be fair and just?

"Gentlemanly" thugs? Thugs with handshakes and smiles, while kissing babies to garner public support for reelection? Anybody who has been here for more than eight years can tell you stories i.e. deputies are expendable -- and are expended.
