A position for Police Officer posted on Indeed a few days ago. The application deadline is 12 days from when the ad posted.

I know the St. Pete campus doesn't have take home cars. The job ad states "Patrol will be conducted on foot, in a mobile capacity, or through the use of special purpose vehicles as assigned." Does Admin allow officers to use patrol vehicles or are they reserved for only supervisors? It sounds like officers patrol the campus on foot or by a special purpose vehicle i.e bicycle, golf cart, etc.

I looked at the current rank structure of the police department online and it appears the St. Pete campus doesn't have CID. The number of officers listed if its current would put staffing at two officers a shift with a third officer on swing.

The job has the same pay and benefits as officers working at the Tampa campus but no 10-50's.

We have patrol cars. You just can't take them home, and they're not assigned. They've also purchased a side-by-side ATV, bikes, and a golf cart for use as well. It's up to you what you choose to drive during a shift, but a lot of areas will require you to get out on foot, which isn't a big deal because it's not a huge campus.

You can do traffic, but it's not mandated.

2 officers per shift on days, slated for 3 on nights, plus 2 Sgts working noon-midnight.

No CID. When you get a case, you'll work it from beginning to end. SPPD and the State Attorney's Office are usually happy to provide assistance and resources if you need them.

Generally a good atmosphere, but it depends on what you're looking for.
