But picking an outsider brings someone who is otherwise clueless into making into the decision process. Political animals all cling to one another. Have fun.
If you do not like the status quo, how do you expect it to change? Bringing in someone with a different perspective makes sense in that case!

After moving on from OCSO he was a local police chief and interacted with SAC Banks and continued to play along with FDLE.

Don't under estimate the power of a former sheriff........

When you have a significant position such as a Special Agent in Charge of a region, that can be a once in a lifetime opportunity for an employee that dedicated their life to FDLE had the hopes of obtaining this promotion and rank.

This is a position that requires experience from within FDLE and understands it's unique role in the LE community, the past and present policies, procedures, limitations, historical roles and agency investigations, and even understands why Agents are at the level they are investigatively (financial limitations of a State Agency/FDLE, past administrative decisions that directed Agents a certain way in training, experience, and direction) that may not make sense to an outside person.

For FDLE to hire an outside guy like this is a huge slap in the face, plain and simple.

Look at other outside agencies, such as large Sheriff's Offices', PD's, and think about an FDLE Supervisor just stepping in to a big position there and the fallout that would happen. Yep, the people at that agency would feel like they were shit on too.

This isn't about Massey and his qualifications, it's about the decision to bring him in over one of FDLE's own and the F/U it really was, and the balls it took for RS/TF to do it!

When you are so arrogant to believe you are so elite that no one that even works at your own Agency is good enough, then you know you've gone too far. But what the hell are any of the FDLE peasants (AKA, pieces of shit) going to do about it? That's right, nothing.

Please give us the name of current ASACs ready to take on that responsibility? Sometimes you have to get outside talent if your current employees aren’t ready to step up. This really sounds like the former SAC didn’t have a plan in place for his succession and it might not have been his fault as mid-management at FDLE is not very strong.

Danny knew he was leaving for what, 6 months? If that isn't enough time, I don't know what is.

FDLE hasn't had a problem with promoting people that aren't ready in the past, this is how we got the current SAC's and up through Commish.

The reason the bench strength of the first line and middle management is weak is a long term effect of Bailey's "friends and family" promotions. It will take years to work though the system.

You have friends who were promoted to SAS who never conducted a major case as an SA. Basically the 'blind leading the blind". Now, some are ASACs and again lack the experience having advanced without experience.

    Thank "Gerry's kids".

Don't forget, your current commissioner was a "Jerry's kid."

He's a "Gerry's kid" who is so full of himself that he's gone after the other "Gerry's kids". Makes sense? It's the only way to save face and try and get support from those you command. He's the only one that's worthy of his position and yet is the only one that got the ultimate buddy appointment!

Indeed. Bailey was the one that gave Swearingen the flexibility and freedom to become so tight and close to the Governor.

The rest is "Rick Scott's Boy" History@!
