GPS facts.....My family has a trucking company and they have GPS on every vehicle. The programs are structured to notify management of the following:

1. QTH at all hours. Special notification when vehicle is out of bounds.
2. Speed at all times and a special alert when in violation of the posted limit.
3. Cell phone use while driving.
4. Excessive time parked and not moving.

All of the above are standard in all GPS equipped vehicles.

Now let’s think about a GPS in a public vehicle (IE Police Car)....

Is the location of a police vehicle subject to Florida’s Public Disclosures Laws? Can citizens go on line and find out where a GPS equipped police vehicle is?

Can a spouse in a divorce situation demand to know where a GPS equipped vehicle is for use in the divorce case.

Is the history of where a GPS equipped vehicle was going to be stored forever or how long?

GPS will be the new “Big Eye In The Sky” for checking on police officers and the violations will be serious for all who do not follow the rules.

I am glad my days are short and hope all of you with years to go find a way to stay out of problems...
