A black young man, raised by a single mother in Philly, stays on the right path, goes to college, walks on to college football, serves the public, pursues an independent business, treats those around him with dignity and respect. Summing this up as " a guy from the gym" is discrediting an individual's accomplishments WHEN it comes from a person who has claimed that he is all about black youth getting ahead and overcoming obstacles. So yeah, the dismissal of accomplishments in this case is a big slap to the black community.

My answer to this question is YES I do. SI provided the then acting City Manager with 3 BSO Captains for her (the ACM was a female) to consider as the District Chief. The ACM selected Jan Jorgan who did in fact have a track record as a train wreck wherever her assignment. She had just destroyed the Civil Division and didn't have a commendable track record at FLPD. However, politics in all sheriff's offices are a political reality. Hiring Jordan was nothing short of an appointment to satify the alphabet crowd but that was a necessary hire.

The ACM wanted diversity and immediately latched on to Jordan much to the raised eyebrows of a lot of others. Regardless, in the end it was the Parkland's ACM that made the Jordan decision. It clearly appears everyone thought of Parkland as a quiet place that it really wouldn't matter. Now in hindsight it appears everyone was wrong. It's a black eye to BSO but absent knowing the future and political reality it was really not foresable that the space shuttle was going to land in Parkland that day in February 2018.

Fortunately, there was only total embarrsment caused to SI and BSO and there wasn't any loss of life attributable to her pathetic behaviour that day.

He did lie about Jordan. A lot. He sold the city a woman who not long before was a ticket agent for an airline and had a long history of employment issues. Parkland did not ask for "diversity". We know this because Israel won't name EXACTLY who made this request, and the Parkland politicians emphatically DENY this. This was clearly "stick a female in there because it fills a slot" appointment. Now, he has the audacity to attack an urban African American as beneath him. Israel was the Chief of a minuscule department in North Bay Village. You can't find anyone of any rank in CS with a bad word to say about Tony. Besides, Tony has identified BSO as a law enforcement agency, again.
Tony has character, he's humble and does not compare himself to world leaders. Those are traits that a narcissist cannot comprehend or value. That's why the public considers Scott's adolescent temper tantrums "inconsequential" and blatantly RACIST.

If he lied to the good people of Parkland about Jan Jordan that would not bode well for his upcoming Senate Hearing...
