“Career advancement is one of the most important elements for employee satisfaction and retention at a company. According to Victor Lipman of Forbes, clear opportunities for career advancement are an “especially powerful” employee motivator.”

    Not money or expensive toys.

For those of you with goals and an interest in growing, climbing, learning, seeking career advancement, and progressing, unless you were hired with a specific path layed out for you, are politically connected, a minority, LGBTQ, or if you are a young teenie bopper female that screws a high rank connected supervisor, maried or not, withing a year, you will hump a zone or pod your whole career. Maybe, to shut some of us up, you may get to drown in cases in a front line crappy detective position and maybe make supervisor back on nights a few years before you retire. Which is the worse. There is no product to look back on and be proud of. Mastery, skill, intelligence, efficiency, mean nothing here. In fact, all those things plus working harder and faster will just make you fall further behind by opening you up to even more calls and cases. Find a career where your trade, your license, your certificates, your skills, your experience, your seniority actually mean something. They mean nothing here. Too many John Smiths clawing and clawing for recognition here jumping through all the hoops. For nothing. The smart ones are the ones that quit. We are all pawns. Easily replaceable pawns. A one year deputy. A 25 year deputy. All in the same.

So be “smart” and move on. I’m sure if you are as amazing as you lead yourself to be, you’ll be the CEO of where you go in no time!

    Work on You!

Reading these ignorant posts it demonstrates that you do not have what our office would entertain to invest in.

You should be thankful you are still employed, and have the privilege of being with our office.

If you want better for yourself you should work on changing your attitude and behavior.
