And MM still riding with a Sgt ???
Well now that is an interesting point. CD dodged a bullet when he chose not to get out of his cruiser at a shots fired call where a murder was later discovered. His spouse, MD survives a CAC purge with just some paper too? Too many coincidences there. Could be just that, but I don’t know. Hell RR survived that cowardice thing too when he didn’t get out at the same murder call. Oh hell, transparency my ass.

But Bob is all about personal accountability, liability and transparency. That's all we hear from him and the COC.

What was MD doing the whole time on light duty if she did not have reports in from December 2017? That is the bigger question. She clearly was not supervising since two of the people were months behind in reports, and she added to that by being another person not doing reports. She is basically getting all this time on paper as a supervisor and she has not worked cases in almost two years and has sat behind a desk (or not been behind the desk, who knows). It does not make sense that she had reports not done from December 2017 when she did not work cases for 6 or so months this time around. That means she got back from maternity leave in December 2017 and did not do her reports, then a few months later went on light duty again and did not do reports. Yet, MM gets sent back to patrol and nothing happens to MD. Her punishment is equal to someone accidentally shooting off a taser cartridge. Clearly the family has some sort of connection.

How can a Sgt on probation, fail to supervise, get booted from a unit, struggle for months as a Recruit Sgt leaning to be a cop not get demoted and keep cashing them checks ??

The Executive Brass thinks that it understands who is capable of handling any
Job. The problem is they really suck at predictions. Especially George Steffen, to his if their name has an opolous in it they are golden. Good supervisors/leaders are cultivated and nurtured. They start as productive deputies who have drive and common sense. They emerge as informal leaders. If there were any legacy plans in place they would be tapped for FTO. Then we would see what they can do. If that works well then they get tapped for corporal. If you want to give them some good experience you tap them for some detective work. Before you forget what they look like you promote them to sergeant and put them back on the road. You leave them there for a year or so to gain experience and exposure. Then if you need them in a specialized sergeant spot you put them there. If they have promise they come back to the road as a lieutenant. After a few years then you move them to a specialized position as a lieutenant. That’s how leadership and experience is developed.

Unfortunately no one in the executive staff has the patience for any of that. They fail to plan ahead and when people leave they go with the tampon approach to promotions and transfers. And when the person who was transferred or promoted too soon fails in less than one year, they eject them for another tampon. They wonder why they have so many failures. It’s because who calls the shots has lost their view of the lower level supervisor jobs.

This agency sets people up for failure, then blames the employee for not pooping golden eggs.
