Overtown 31
Another 31 that will go unsolved thanks to the homicide team assigned. Same team that dropped the ball on the Liberty Square double murder where the wrong two people were arrested. Add to the fact that Team Useless is being bombarded with Fake News from every unit and command staff...this will go to cold case.
It was a professional hit, it was over life insurance, it was because victim was witness about to testify, its because victim sold dope, it's victims ex boyfriend, it was victims gf who set it up, its because victim has PO family, it was a gang initiation, it was a 29 carjacking gone bad, it was a hate crime cus victim was gay and Team Useless along with Lead Detective Lost and Team Sergeant Talk-to-much stop following one lead to follow another because everyone ranked above them knows how to investigate better than they do after a year in CID.
Bring back First 48!!

Best do, the most current National, aggregate data, according to the FBI UCR, the clearance rate for homicides and non-negligent manslaughter; whether cleared by arrest or exceptional means is 61.6%. According to FDLE, Miami PD reported 27 murders, seven arrests were made; therefore, the clearance by arrests should be 26%!

My error, as haste makes waste. Below[1] is FDLE's link for January to June 2018, scroll down to page 14. Granted, data is only for the first six months of 2018. So let us *extrapolate*; assuming for argument sake, that Miami reported 54 murders for calendar 2018 and reported 14 arrests, that means that only 27% of the murders were cleared by arrest. Claiming a 70% clearance rate for homicides seems a bit crafty. Is former Assistant Chief Louie Vega back on the job with MPD?
During 2017, open and see below [2] link, scroll down to page 14 as well. Then MPD reported 52 homicides and 9 arrests. Open and See link [3] and scroll down to page 40. Consequently the clearance rate by arrest would be 17.3%.

*extrapolate* - verb = extend the application of (a method or conclusion, especially one based on statistics) to an unknown situation by assuming that existing trends will continue or similar methods will be applicable.

Prosecution rate? HAHA!! The State Attorney doesn't even like filing charges much less prosecute. The 2 biggest cases of 2018 ended up with CHARGES DROPPED.Next time you see the CID Major or any CID Lieutenant ask them: "Name a State Attorney you've spoken to in the last 15 days" and watch them blink silently. Here's a bit of "nostradamus" for you:
Major Erick "Never-wrong" Gonzalez and Lt. Ricky "I know it all" Lopez will never admit they are in above their heads and blame the Sergeants for any and all unsolved cases instead of admitting that they suck as CID leaders. They will throw the Sergeants under the bus faster than you can say "Max Valdes". Watch as Sgt. Never Shut Up Reyes and Sgt. Fall Asleep Prospere get kicked out in the next 3 to 6 months for not closing their cases and replaced with either kool-aid drinkers or SWAT buddies.
