Its somewhat correct. Israel is to blame because he placed incompetent people in positions they never, ever should have been in all because they were his cronies. Jordan had limited to no experience as a district captain. Shultz from training, who will not be unclaimed, developed a curriculum based upon community policing rather than the warrior mindset. These are the leaders that steer a ship and you cant blame the oars man when the ship sails off course.
I do agree with one thing Israel said about that he cant give them the heart but he should look at himself with all the poor choices he made for political favors and look at his heart.

Pandering to the liberals for votes, Sheriff Israel IS at fault. He put/left the players (Jordan, Miller, Peterson) in their posts. His watch, his people, his fault 50%. The other 50% at fault is the Principal at Douglas for lax practice. Cruz must be kept from society forever, but, he was born addicted, had reactive- attachment disorder due to not bonding with a caregiver during infancy which set him on a path to psychopathology, was abandoned, neglected and not appropriately diagnosed or treated for the mental health conditions that he had and continues to have. Mass shootings take place because there are no institutions to house the chronically mentally ill. You can thank the democrats for deciding that these sick people need to live among us- for us to be only reactive to AFTER a massacre. Feel HORRIBLE for ALL of the deputies whose lives have been impacted by this tragedy, including those who have been excoriated. No one should ever have had to be in this position to begin with. Shame on US liberal policy and shame on Broward County who helped to shape and form this monster that was created.

Here's where I think you're wrong. Deputy Peterson and Sergeant Miller both had over 30 years experience and served under multiple Sheriff's and receive various training over that time. Shame on any cop with that kind of experience who is not tactically prepared to address a situation like MSD and need to have their hand held by a supervisor who usually has less time in then they do. Before Jan Jordan was hiring by BSO she was a sergeant and SWAT team supervisor at Fort Lauderdale PD. On paper she should have been able to deal with the tragedy that occurred at MSD. The statement that you made regarded Sheriff Israel is usually made internally about every Sheriff or Chief of Police when ever there are newly-promoted people. Whenever somebody is promoted there are always people who say that person was not qualified and this person who got passed over should have been promoted first. The promotion process is very subjective because there are so many variables when deciding who should be promoted. Just because somebody is a good test-taker doesn't make them a good supervisor. Every large Department has deputies / cops with little or no rank that could run circles around most of their supervisors. There are people in every profession hired or promoted into positions because on paper they look like Superstars but when the time comes to step up to the plate they freeze. Just because you dislike somebody doesn't mean it's okay to Monday Morning Quarterback them. Nobody likes when that standard is used against them which is why I stated in my original post that's Sheriff Scott Israel is responsible but not at fault. Because he is the Sheriff he is responsible for everyone under his command and for anything Public Safety related in Broward County. To be at fault the Sheriff would have had to put people in positions knowing they have history of documented incompetence and failure.

I'm confused. You bash Sheriff Israel, the School Board and liberals and say they are 100% responsible and then you give Cruz a pass by making excuses for him just like a liberal. What's up with that?

No, not a pass. Whether it's life being kept separate from society or the death penalty, that's all there is to work with in this case. But we MUST stop ignoring the condition that these people are in. If you've been alive for a very long time, you may remember mental institutions. They were horrible places because there was no technology to weed out the predators who sought jobs in these places. With the technology that is available today, institutions for chronically mentally ill are viable. The point is that we need to stop ignoring the fact that the main issue is MENTAL health. Mentally healthy people don't pick up a weapon and kill kids. It's not the bullied kid who does this; it's the kid whose ignored and losing a grip on reality. The sanity/insanity determination by a court is an off base measurement of guilt or innocence.

You have never been involved in a SNIPER call i see
Thank you for making my point that you and most others employed here have never been shot at by a sniper. Lmao ! You remind me of the newly minted lieutenant we told to stay down but he wanted to see something with his field glasses. Maybe you will grow a set of balls someday and stop pretending your six feet tall and dangerous.
