G4S audit for Volusia County?
It would seem that G4S security, currently used by VCSO, has made many mistakes in Orange County. This is the quality of protection we can expect now. The violations from Orange County are as follows
#1- Effectiveness of security screeners was not tested
#2- 45 percent of sampled screeners never recieved initial training
#3- there were more than 100 instances in a 14 week period where guards worked more than 24 hours in a 48 hour period
#4- 75% of electronic access cards were not deactivated after employment ceased
#5- liscensing status of the guards was not properly monitored or adhered to as required
This is the company that employed Omar Mateen (Pulse shooter). It would seem that we are stuck with this level of protection as well. We need to also audit G4S to see if the same violations are occurring here. We all know they are! To what level is the question of the hour.
VCC needs to address this and handle the findings accordingly. All of the violations stated certainly cause concern and should be inspected to ensure we're recieving what we're paying for.

Chitwood will NOT do an audit of the GS4 company because of the following reasons. 1. He hired this company (when the Sheriffs of Indian River County and St Lucie fired this company due to the Mateen incident). It would show that he made a mistake in judgement. 2. As has been documented here and on social media...nobody wants to work for Chitty. You fire GS4 and it is more mandatory overtime.
Maybe the County Council could order an audit. Or maybe Judge Zambrano or R J Larizza could order an audit...since their safety is in peril.

The Court Administrator for the 7th Judicial Circuit would be a good contact. He works closely with the Chief Judge and other judges of the circuit in carrying out administrative responsibilities related to the operation of the circuit and county courts.
His name is Mark Weinberg. His email is mweinberg@circuit7.org. He can help in getting this mess straightened out.

Update
Recieved a message from judicial services that VCSO themselves handle security related issues. Email was forwarded to the SO. I guess the sheriff wont have to answer to the valid concerns if he doesn't audit Volusia County. We all know he wont. Emailing Pat Rice later tonight with the same concerns. I do not expect any reporting to be done. One thing is sure, if a Mateen moment happens here, I'm asking WHY!

One of two things are going to happen. Chitwood will not investigate or audit the training or performance of G4S. If he did it would show what an imbecilic decision it was to hire this company (and why St Lucie and Indian River fired this company). That is the first thing.
The second is Chitwood will have a situation similar to his traffic ticket with Sgt Peck. He will have the media alerted to how G4S was a safety liability and that he fired them. He will eat up the media coverage.
One of these two things will happen.
